My one-month-old 2001 workhorse/chevrolet 18,000 gvw chassis motorhome had partial failure of its autopark braking system. there were very unsettling noises while driving. my inspection revealed leaking brake/trans fluid. personally performed a temporary fix by attempting to tighten fittings and continually topping off quarts of atf fluid in braking system until able to get to a repair agency in anchorage, ak. now i have come to realize how lucky we were that the system did not lock up and cause an unexpected and dangerous stop on the highway. a seal was replaced and the system has worked ok since, but i wish to express serious concern over the design and durability of this (most unusual and unnecessarily complex) system! i no longer drive with the same level of confidence in this system's durability. | |||

I have a 2001 motor home on a workhorse chassis and have a sever brake problem. when you apply the brakes, only the front brakes tries to stop the coach, then you smell the pads getting hot and the peddle goes to the floor and you have to pump them to stop. i have put brand new shoes , calipers, and master cylinder with no help. it has been at a workhorse dealership for one month now and they can't find the problem. after reading rv.net, plenty of people owning workhorse chassis has the same problems. *tr |
