2004 yamaha roadstar warrior crank shaft position sensor failure date of failure august, 30 2004 approx 3000 miles purchase date: june 2004 1.) i was traveling on my 2004 yamaha roadstar warrior at 65 mph in congested highway conditions at night prior/during the during the component (crank shaft position sensor) failure. 2.) due to the crank shaft position sensor failure the motorcycle's motor stopped running, i then pulled/activated the motorcycle's clutch to allow the vehicle to continued it's forward movement/momentum, allowing me to coast across three lanes of +65 mph highway traffic to reach the breakdown lane. 3.) the motorcycle had to be towed to the yamaha dealer to replace the crank shaft position sensor yamaha p/n 5px-81670-00-00 diagnostic code 12. *nm

To whom it may concern: i am not being treated fairly by the yamaha corporation. due to the recall status of my 2003 roadstar warrior, the yamaha corporation is costing me money as my motorcycle is sitting in my garage waiting for parts for the recall. i now have a motorcycle that i cannot ride because of the recall, but my payments and my insurance payments on this motorcycle keep coming? i realize when dealing with machines of this nature recalls can happen. the recall itself is not the reason for this letter. the issue is yamaha's handling of this recall situation. my motorcycle has been sitting going on two months because of this, and my yamaha dealer has no idea when the parts for your recall will be availabale. plus the fact that my dealer says there are many motorcycles in front of me for the recall, so i have no idea when my motorcycle will be deemed safe to ride again. they have not communicated any information to me or to my dealer as to when these parts will be available. yamaha's customer relation's people have no idea when the parts will be available to return my motorcycle to a safe status. this, in my opinion, is unaccepatable. everyday that my motorcycle sits unusable, i get angrier with the yamaha corporation. at this point there is no way i would purchase another yamaha product, nor would i recommend a yamaha product. i know i am a very small speck on the total list of owners and i feel they will not give this letter a second thought. but hear me on this, i will tell a lot of folks how i have been treated by the yamaha corporation. also, if i am not mistaken, after 30 days of the vehicle not being repaired, there is grounds for a lemon law case.
