| Purchased 2007 yamaha yzfr1 last september. the bike exhibited a lag in the throttle around 5,000 rpm, and the engine will also stall at random, usually at the worst time. this bike has stalled at least 20 times at intersections, and stalled another 6 times just yesterday! the throttle lag issue has been fixed by a dealer. the stall has not been fixed. the stall problem scares me. it may lead to my death!!! yamaha needs to fix this now! *tr | |||

| I have a 2007 yamaha r1.just got it 2 week ago.and i was riding about 50mph and try to pass a car and hit the gas and nothing happen,no responce almoust got hit by a car on the pass becous there was no responce on the gas.so i try the same speed agen with nobody around and it happen more time.i call the dealership where i got the bike from and they dont know anything about it so they say.the bike has 91mils its bramd mew but i pay $12,000 and thats what i get thats not right and almoust got kill too.aomwbody has to do something before theres somebody get heart. *ak | |||

| The 2007 yamaha yzfr1 had intermittent and significant loss of power and stalled while riding. this was a well known problem that yamaha was avoiding to recall. it was exceedingly dangerous.*ak | |||

| I know in fact i'm not the first to make a complaint regarding an issue that i have on my 2007 yamaha yzf r1 motorcycle. the following is the best description i can give for a throttle lag problem in the 2nd gear at approximately 5000-5500 rpm. the motorcycle will not respond to the throttle opening and hesitates for approx. 2 seconds before it will accelerate. i for one think this is very dangerous especially during interstate riding when the need to accelerate rapidly exists. at this point yamaha hasn't responded to the problem and i am a member of r1 forum.com and the majority of owners of the 2007 model has experienced. i am hoping that nhtsa can help with this problem that yamaha refuses to correct and hopefully get a recall issued. any help with this matter would truly be appreciated. *jb | |||

| The eletronic throttle (fly by wire) system has a dangerous lag @5500 rpm in 2nd gear. if you drive in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm for a couple of seconds and then try to accelerate, the motor doesn't respond as it should. it very slowly accelerates. this is reproducible every time. | |||

| I purchased a 2007 yamaha yzf-r1 about 3 weeks ago. when riding this motorcycle in 2nd gear at 5500 rpm (approximately 45 mph), there is absolutely no throttle response for 2 to 3 seconds - almost as if it is running out of gas. my dealer contacted yamaha and while describing the defect was interrupted by the yamaha representative... let me guess, 2nd gear at 5500 rpm? the answer is tmdt... that model does that. that's the way the computer is programmed and there is no fix. the bike should be ridden the way it was meant to be ridden to avoid this. in other words, they are suggesting the bike should be ridden like a race bike. this would be very dangerous on public roads with other traffic. | |||

| The motorcycle at apprx 5500 rpms (45-50mph) in second gear has an extreme lag issue. you can turn the throttle but the bike will not respond. this is a serious issue due to taking away control of the vehicle making it impossible to maneuver through traffic or matching speeds of traffic. this problem almost caused me to lose control as well in a corner when becoming unresponsive to the throttle. *tr | |||
