I have a 2000 yamaha r6, and i have had motorcycyles my whole life. my bike has only 10,000 miles and the second gear in the transmission is slipping. yamaha claims that this is due to users improperly shifting. but this is just a lie to cover up that the bike is improperly designed or built so that they do not have to fix all these bikes. i have rode my whole life and i know how to ride a motorcylce perfectly, so i know the gear did not go bad to improper shifting. and just about ever r6 has this problem given enough time. just look on the web forums on the internet, not this many people do not know how to ride. thankyou.*ak | |||

As with many other owners of the yamaha r6 i have experienced premature failure with the motorcycles transmission with only 11,000 miles on the bike. when under acceleration in 2nd gear the bike will jump out of gear and slip. i view this to be a safety hazard for many as hundreds of these motorcycles have experienced the same problem. i would like to see the manufacture compensate the owners of these motorcycles in one way or another. i feel like yamaha has left many people high and dry with the bill to fix a problem that should never have been.*ak |
