2004 audi a4 3.0 reporting left dipped headlight with left headlight flickering on and off. with no known way to fix this problem, per audi dealership, what happens when the right headlight also goes bad? not only dangerous to the driver, but on-coming traffic! only a matter of time before someone get's killed related to audi headlight issue! something needs to be done & immediately. ~there were no events leading up to it's failure & this problem occurs continuously...

2004 audi a4 quattro wipers started to run slowly. sometimes would stop in the middle of the windshield. ran slowly for a couple of weeks. finally, drivers side wiper disengaged from linkage and actually cracked my windshield. took it to shop for repair, and was told that the wiper transmission was broken and needed to be repaired. when calling for parts, shop found out that this part is in high demand due to an apparent design defect. read more about others with similar problems online. this will end up costing me close to $1000 to replace that bad wiper assembly and my windshield. how could this not be a recalled item? *tr

Drivers side window and right rear passenger window fail to operate from drivers position. took vehicle to the dealer and was told that the drivers side window regulator was faulty, they replaced it and it. they said the rear passenger side window wasn't working because the safety lock was on. picked up vehicle after the service dept. was closed and was shocked to see that the rear window still doesn't work, no matter what position the safety lockout is in. dealer was notified and said to return but because of location i will have to wait for another day. *tr

I purchased new a 2004 audi , the car now has only 20,000 miles and both front windows have quit working., the passenger side a couple of months ago and now the driver's side. has this happened to other cars this model and if so, why hasn't there been a factory recall? *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 audi a4. the contact took her vehicle to the dealer for routine maintenance and a recall repair was performed for the fuel pump. two years later, while driving less than 50 mph, she heard a loud winding noise from the rear of the vehicle. the dealer stated that the fuel pump and rear window regulator cable failed. the repairs were made at the cost of $1,458.33. later, through online research, the manufacturer stated that the recall repairs were performed in 2006 and they would not cover a second repair. the contact stated that she was never informed of the repair for nhtsa campaign id number 06v017000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump). the failure and current mileages were less than 52,000.

Windshield wipers stopped operating when in use while driving down interstate. dealer explained they were aware of this issue, indicated it was a poor mechanical assembly design and the bushings corrode. they would replace but would not cover under warranty. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 audi a4 avant. the contact stated that the windshield wiper fluid prevents the wipers from working properly. the dealer has replaced the wipers twice, but the failure persists. to have the wipers repaired would cost $500, since the vehicle is out of warranty and there are no recalls. the current mileage is 70,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.

Wipers stopped working during a rain storm, left the blade up and in my view. turned the wipers off then back to the on position to see if that would retract them. they moved about an inch and then the window cracked right above the drivers side wiper arm. wipers work fine as long as i leave a cracked windshield in place. replace it and they work intermittently until the window cracks again. *tr

Dt: there is an oily film that develops on the interior of the windows, can't wipe it off because it smears. traveled 80 miles a day for work. doesn't happen in the winter, but happens in warm weather. dealer put in a new windshield which was having same problem. *ak the oily film continued to cover the windshield at 11,000 miles. audi doesn't provide a solution for the problem and consumer feels that this can create a dangerous problem *sb

My 2004 audi a4 3.0 cabriolet has windshield wipers which at about 8,000 miles of wear began to make an unbearably loud, rythmically repetitive sound on the driver's side. the selling dealer, cherry hill imports, has repeatedly looked at the problem and said there is nothing unusual about this sound, but the car did not do it when it was new. in severe weather , i have resorted to turning off the wipers for a few seconds at a time in order not to be hypnotized by the repetitive sound of the defect. this, of course, is a safety hazard, but i feel being put to sleep while driving is more dangerous, should the defect lead to that. dealerships besides cherry hill imports have replaced the blades on the car, but the effect of this remedy was non-existent. i feel it is my duty to request the aid of the nhsta to save the lives of audi owners who labor under this hazard, as well as my own. thanks.*ak
