| Defect Summary | Gm is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 buick, lucerne; cadillac dts; hummer h2; model year 2008-2009 buick enclave; cadillac cts; model year 2007-2009 cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext; chevrolet avalanche, silverado, suburban, tahoe; gmc acadia, sierra, yukon, yukon xl; saturn outlook; and model year 2009 chevrolet traverse vehicles equipped with a heated washer fluid system (hwfs). a recall was implemented in 2008 to add a fuse to the control circuit harness to address the potential consequences of a printed circuit board (pcb) electrical short. however, there have been new reports of thermal incidents on hwfs modules after this improvement was installed. these incidents resulted from a new failure mode attributed to the device's thermal protection feature. the significance varies from minor distortion to considerable melting of the plastic around the hwfs fluid chamber. | |||||||||||||||

| When driving and coming to slow down at a red light or to make a turn, then accelerate, my 2007 cadillac escalade completely shuts down. all electrical and mechanical power is lost. this has happed at least 7 times over the last month. my wife is the primary driver of the vehicle and she uses it to drop the kids off at school and daycare. she's been stuck in the middle of a busy intersection in dallas, tx 3 times. this is a very dangerous situation for my family. i took the vehicle to the service department at massey cadillac in garland, tx on 03/03/11 and i'm waiting for their diagnosis. i purchased the truck brand new and have regularly scheduled maintenance done. | |||

| 2007 cadillac escalade heated windshield washer module short circuit. *nj the consumer stated the vehicle was not repaired within the 60 day period nor was it repaired within 365 days of the recall notice. due to the problem not being fixed, the consumer experienced other electrical problems. the recall parts were not available. and, because they were not available the dealers were allowed to remove the heated windshield wiper fuse; disabling the system. recall 08v441000. *jb | |||
