| Defect Summary | The recliner mechanism and the seat frame may have foam and/or vinyl between them, creating a soft joint. this soft joint results in lower than specified bolt torque which leads to joint looseness, causing bolt fatigue and eventual bolt failure. | |||||||||||||||
| Consequence Summary | If bolt failure occurs to the driver's seat, it wouldallow the seat back to suddenly recline, and could result in loss of vehiclecontrol and a vehicle crash without prior warning. | |||||||||||||||
| Corrective Summary | Dealers will remove the foam and/or vinyl from between the recliner mechanism and the seat frame soft joint and replace the recliner bolts. | |||||||||||||||

| Sitting in the front passanger's seat and the seat collapsed and fell backwards. took vehicle to the dealer and had seat replaced. vehicle was not under the recall #93v187000. *ak | |||

| When vehicle was involved in accident both driver and passenger seat broke. tt loss control of vehicle on wet road during heavy rain fall, vehicle turned over on shoulder off road onto passenger side, seat beltremianed fastened, but back portion at manual cranck device on both seats broke away, this allowed driver to slide out from under seat belt and shoulder belt, to be tossed to rear of van, landing behind back seat, driver suffered multiple bruises and scrrapes to face,limbs and body , some of these injuris have left permanent circulation problems in ankle.*jb | |||
