While driving the consumer noticed that the vehicle was leaking fuel. the fuel caused poor visibility to motorist driving behind his vehicle. the dealership determined that the fuel injection needed to be replaced. the vehicle is now on it's fourth repair. *nm the fuel leak could cause to pushed past the piston rings into the crankcase, and a hairline crack in the fuel rail also caused fuel into the crankcase. also, the leak of fuel and oil has caused check engine light to turn on. general motors won't replace fuel injector or fuel rail until it has failed. *la

Husband performed oil change on truck. truck is driven infrequently, only used for towing my horse trailer, so oil is only changed about once a year, and truck is garage kept. when underneath truck, husband noticed that all brake lines feeding into the abs unit are severely corroded and could fail at any time. based on condition of brake lines, husband (a mechanic) feels abs unit is probably full of rust as well. entire braking system may be compromised and full of rust. truck will not be safe to drive until brake lines are replaced, and potentially entire braking system is overhauled. called dealership, they refused to do anything because the truck is out of warranty. we have contacted chevrolet directly and are awaiting a return phone call. my husband has 30 and 40 year old cars at home that have cleaner original brake lines than our 10 year old truck does.

On our 2002 chevrolet c3500 light truck i noticed a deterioration in brake performance over time. we pulled the rear wheels at 37,000 miles and found that the rear brake calipers have not been engaging the brake pads with the rear rotors. the rear rotors have severely corroded and now the corrosion is tearing the pads apart. we have come to find out that this is an ongoing problem with gm vehicles of this type and poses a serious threat to life and safety.

TIRES
05/15/2011
On sunday may the 15th the walmart tle on bush river rd in columbia sc installed two front tires on a 2002 chevy 3500 van. they installed two p rated tires even though the vehicle calls for lt. they all so put 55psi in the tires when the tires are only rated for 44psi. the tires are not rated for this. also there was no dot card given out

Tire failure: the 2002 chevrolet 3500 truck purchased had goodyear wrangler tires on as original equipment. they all bulged around the rim and eventually one blew out i took them to the goodyear dealer and they replaced them under road hazard. the replacement set ran half life and they started to bulge in the same spot. one blew out on the freeway.this time i replaced them with different tires, but saved the old ones in case you wished to look at them. serious injury could happen from this and i think that if i had replaced them with goodyer tires, the problem would be burried within the company.if you are not interested then i need to recycle them.

While driving my 2002 chevy silverado 3500, with approx 41000 miles on the odometer, the spare tire fell off from under the truck bed and went skidding down the highway. the steel cable that was holding the spare tire was observed to be shredded. i was driving at approx. 35 miles an hour on a flat highway, under normal road conditions when this occurred. the spare tire has never been serviced or moved and was put in place at the factory. this failure of the steel cable that holds the spare tire almost resulted in a serious accident. i contacted the chevy dealer (bill koenig chevrolet in port angels wa) and the service department indicated that this failure was not a recall issue and declined to repair under warranty. clearly, this failure poses a serious traffic safety issue and needs to be investigated and addressed. *nm
