While driving on dark road my low beam lights shut off. this was very dangerous and it could have easily cost me my life. this should be a recall. how many people will die before chevrolet decides to do a recall?!!!

While driving at night on the interstate, the low beam headlights shut off. all other lights wored fine. i was able to switch to hi beams and continue home. car was purchased used less than 1 month ago. search of corvette forums online reveals that this is a fairly common problem and is related to the fuse block under the hood. chevrolet knows about the problem but has done nothing about it. the cost of replacing the fuse block (approx. 600.00) should not be borne by the consumer due to a safety issue. *tr

Driving at night on my way home, my low beam headlights when out. high beams still worked, so when i got home i started checking the fuses and relays but they were all good. after 2 hours when the car cooled down i restarted the car and low beams were working fine, left the car running for 20 minutes and headlights when out again. appears to be a heating problem at the fuse box. i believe this is a safety issue that can result in fatalities if gm doesn't fix.

Driving i95 temp about 80 f no rain dry very light traffic at about 70 mph no moon light light selector set on auto front lights both low beam went out filpped to high beam still in auto no lights braking turn off to side of road stop move selector to manual from auto no low beams but have high beams shut car off let it sit while checking fuses all fuse ck ok so changed them anyway close covers set light selector to auto light low and start the car light came on both high and low in 20 sec. light s go out place light selector in manual no lows again then flipped to high beam drive home with high beams so now it is not light or relay it may very well be a teampature issue under the hood get warm lights go off

While driving, at night, both low-beam headlights went out simultaneously and could not be switched back on. i used the fog lights to drive home on surface streets. i later determined that the problem was an intermittent connection in circuit no. 1970, within the main fuse/relay backplane itself. the circuit opens at operating temperatures, but works when the car fuse box is cold, making diagnosis more difficult. the backplane cannot be serviced and must be replaced.

We had a 2006 corvette on our car lot. it had a dead battery when we got it. we put in a new battery and took it to the local gm dealer to have the door locks reprogrammed. it sat there for months, and the battery would often go dead, because as i understand it, the electronics drain the batteries in those cars while they sit, shut off. one day we went to jump the battery, and i crawled into the trunk with the only key to the car, which fit under the trunk, because the doors wouldn't open with the remote. after the jump i moved the car into another parking spot, and found that i couldn't get out. i happened to know about the cable for the door located in the back of the trunk, so i dove into the trunk and pulled it, but it didn't work. i then tried the sunroof switch, or what i thought was the sunroof switch to no avail. i went back to the trunk and found a trunk release that popped the back hatch. it worked. i did not test every system in the car. the car was running, so it's possible that the low voltage problem might have cleared up on it's own. but i wonder, what if i would have shut off the car? what if nobody knew i was there? what if the car was on fire or in water? what if i was sick, disabled, or injured, and couldn't get to the lever in the back seat? what if it was an extremely hot day? what if i didn't have anything available to break out a window? the key to the trunk and the remote were locked in the car with me. the person on the outside stood there helpless. so, i googled trapped in a corvette with electronic door locks, and found that it has happened to others, including a six year old. i hope you will investigate this problem further.

About 3 months ago my 2006 corvette's dic said please service the traction control system and the traction control off indication light came on. later that day i went to take the car to be serviced. on the way the check engine light came on but the other lights had gone away. at the dealership it was plugged up to a computer i was told it said there was a leak from the gas cap, which doesn't close properly at times. i was also told the computer said nothing about the traction control system and just to watch it and come back another time if i kept having problems with it. the warning message or light didn't come on again for about 4-5 weeks. when it did i was driving the car and after hitting a bump the light and warning came on. when the car was turn off and restarted it would go away. i had not been driving it often because i had another car. the past week i had to drive it every day to work due to it now being my only car. the light and warning now comes on almost every time it is driven. the car is telling me the traction control system is off, but when you are driving it sometimes pulls the car to the left without me moving the wheel. when this happens the break makes a grinding noise and if you place your foot on top of the break it feels as though it is being pumping up and down. two times now while driving down the interstate to work the car has pulled itself off the road causing me to almost wreck and causing others wreck behind me. i have set up an appointment for tomorrow 11/17/2009 before going to work but was told they are unsure (even though this is major and i have an extended warranty) if they will have a rental car so i can go to work. if they don't i will be force to drive my car until they do and i can get off work. i can't lose my professional job over transportation. this really upsets me because i have no other choice of transportation and it puts not only me but others at risk because this car with 33,000 miles is faulting. *tr

When the ambient air temperature is over 95 degrees the following electrical gremlins occur on my 2006 corvette convertible. 1. when the memory button on the door is pressed, the steering wheel will go to its preset position. the seat does not move. this happens about 85% of the time. does not happen when the outside temperature is below 80 degrees. 2. with the car running, ac and radio on, if the memory button on the door is pressed, the radio will turn off along with the air conditioning system. most times the radio will come back on within a minute. the ac must be turned on with the ac control buttons. *tr

Car would not start after setting 4 days in my garage. charged the battery and car would not start after two days setting in my garage. charged the battery again and car would not start after setting two days in my garage. gm had installed a new battery just 400 miles ago. appears to be excessive battery drain. took it in to dealer and they replaced a module in the driver side door. went to pick up the car and when i tried to start the car, the battery was dead again. dealer installed another new battery. have not had a chance to use the car (2006 z06) since the dealership visit january 18, 2007, due to winter weather conditions. *jb
