While driving on dark road my low beam lights shut off. this was very dangerous and it could have easily cost me my life. this should be a recall. how many people will die before chevrolet decides to do a recall?!!!

While driving at night on the interstate, the low beam headlights shut off. all other lights wored fine. i was able to switch to hi beams and continue home. car was purchased used less than 1 month ago. search of corvette forums online reveals that this is a fairly common problem and is related to the fuse block under the hood. chevrolet knows about the problem but has done nothing about it. the cost of replacing the fuse block (approx. 600.00) should not be borne by the consumer due to a safety issue. *tr

Driving at night on my way home, my low beam headlights when out. high beams still worked, so when i got home i started checking the fuses and relays but they were all good. after 2 hours when the car cooled down i restarted the car and low beams were working fine, left the car running for 20 minutes and headlights when out again. appears to be a heating problem at the fuse box. i believe this is a safety issue that can result in fatalities if gm doesn't fix.

Low beams suddenly cut out. since then, low beams are ok when car is cold (in morning or after sitting for several hours) but then cut out again at random time after car warms up, and stay off until next time car is cold. high beams & fog lights work fine, all other lighting and functions work fine. suspect failed connection at punch-down board inside fuse box for circuit that supplies power to low-beam relay, requiring fuse box replacement, as has been diagnosed with several other reported identical incidents in c6 model corvettes (first introduced in 2005) that i discovered during online research. dealer will diagnose during emergency appointment in 2 days. could cause serious accident if lights suddenly cut out while driving at night on unlit road. |
