 Letter from congressman perriello on behalf of constituent re safety defect in the electronics that control the seat movement in gm vehicles (dot/i#2010-2133) *tgw 2001 chevrolet silverado. the consumer stated when he attempted to move the seat forward or back after releasing the switch, the seat would continue to move all the way forward or all the way to the rear. also, on occasion the seat moved back and forth on its own without activating the switch. *jb

 2001 chevrolet silverado. consumer states difficulty with electronic seat mechanism. *tgw when the consumer attempted to move the seat forward or backwards, after releasing the switch, the seat would continue to move all the way forward or all the way back to the rear. also, on occasion, it moved back and forth on it's own without actually activating switch. *jb

 Drivers bucket seat has caused lower back pain and is uncomfortable to drive. *ak consumer stated that because of the design flaw, the lumbar support on both drivers and front passenger seats are not properly aligned and cannot be adjusted up or down, consumer is concerned about his back. *yd

 The seat slides forward or backward if the heel of your foot rests on the seat, causing the seat adjustment to disengage, throwing you to the rear or the cab or into the steering wheel making it impossible to control the truck.this truck happens to have manual seat adjustment.*ak
