I would like to file a complaint with daimler-chrysler regarding the longevity of their automobiles. thiswas the second vehicle that failed between 100,000 and 110,000 with proper maintenance and upkeep. i had problems with the headlights, door seals, the automatic seats and now the engine. i took the car to chrysler dealer, and the service department manager told me i had a bad rod and the engine was virtually shot and wasn't worth fixing. he said he was ashamed to say the 2.7 engines were junk. i have researched my car and found out that there were a lot of others with the same, if not more problems than what i had, which indicated that daimler-chrysler should be ashamed of for not caring or making good for their mistakes instead of ignoring them! this car has had many other problems, including electrical problems with door locks, the power seats, and the seals from around the doors. i made the mistake of not researching the vehicle before i bought it. i will never do that again! i just wish that daimler-chrysler would care more about their cars, and the consumers that were buying them, and then maybe they would have more sales since their customer service stinks. i really didn't want to say a true statement about service for daimler-chrysler problems. i will never buy a daimler-chrysler product again, as per my own experiences with problems and the responses from the company. if i have no satisfaction from this email, which i know will not happen!, i will make sure that others know what i have been through!, especially will all the veterans that i know and have contacts with since september 11, 2001.*ak

On the morning of 10/20/2006, my husband was driving to work in our 1998 chrysler concorde. he was in rush hour traffic and the engine started knocking and losing power, the oil light also came on when he stopped. he was able to make it to work and park the car. only to be told by a certified mechanic that we have engine failure and need a new engine. more than likely due to oil sludge...whatever that is. we have had the oil changed in this car every 3,000 miles with synthetic oil since purchasing it from my parents in 2001. my parents had purchased the vehicle new and also had the oil changed every 3,000 miles. our mechanic told us this oil sludge and engine failure is a major problem with these cars that have the 2.7l engine. we can not afford a new engine let alone a rebuilt engine. my husband has no transportation to work now, as we have 5 children 3 of them under 3, and i can't be without a vehicle due to our middle daughter's health problems and 3 weekly doctor appointments. my husband's job is in the city which is a 30 - 45 minute commute. now my husband is having to take a bus to work and has to add 2 additional hours on to his commute time. less time with family and a car with 72,000 miles that we can't drive!!! chrysler's own mechanics admit the defect with the 2.7l engines, why won't the company acknowlege the problem. i'll tell you why......having to stand up and take responsibility for their defective engine would totally bankrupt them. not to mention tarnish the mercedes-benz affilitation. since hearing this i have researched this and have found thousands of people with the same problem and chrysler won't do a damn thing about it!!! my parents have been loyal chrysler owners since their first new car 40 years ago......i doubt that they will continue to be. *nm

Tl*the contact owns a 1998 chrysler concorde. while driving approximately 5 mph, the driver's seat reclined unexpectedly. the contact lost control of the vehicle. the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign id number 03v035000 (seats:front assembly:recliner) in may of 2003. the dealer stated that the reclining seat was not due to the recall, but rather a seat back adjuster and wiring harness failure. the current mileage was 86,554 and failure mileage was 86,544. updated 01-15-08. *kb updated*jb

Dt: driver's side seat recliner bolts was recalled. the consumer took vehicle to the dealer and they charged consumer for recall repairs. this was on 1-13-04, and it was on that date that consumer received the recall notice. the dealer told her that it was because previously someone had tried to fix the recall and parts were missing. the consumer was not the original owner of the vehicle. when she contacted the manufacturer, they just took her complaint # 12395573. she did not have the recall work done when she took vehicle to the second dealer. *ak the radio was inoperative. the window needed a support seal. *jb *nm updated 12/8/2005 - *nm
