Defect SummaryFord is recalling certain model year 2011 ranger trucks built from january 25, 2011, through april 25, 2011 at the twin cities assembly plant, and service parts distributed to dealers for certain 2004 through 2011 model year ranger trucks, 2002 through 2005 model year excursion vehicles, and 2002 through 2007 model year f-250, f-350, f-450, and f-550 trucks for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. the multi-function switch was shipped with a subcomponent (slider) that may experience deformation. a multi-function switch with a deformed slider may malfunction causing the turn signal, tail lights, hazard warning signal flashers and/or brake lights not to activate.
Consequence SummaryNon-functioning lights could increase the risk of a crash.

Defect SummaryCertain aftermarket fuel filters sold under the purolator brand name, p/n f65277, shipped from january 16 through june 2, 2006, for use on the above listed passenger vehicles. due to incorrect design, the quick connectors may not fully seat with the tube interface, even though the person making the connection may believe that the quick connector is fully attached.
Consequence SummaryFailure of this connection could lead to fuel spillage and, in the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.

 I purchased my 2005 ford escape january 15, 2005. in april that same year was the first time i attempted to start my brand new truck and it would not start. the vehicle will crank but the engine will not turn over. this happens about every 3-4 months. i have taken it to my local dealer regarding this problem about 4 or 5 times and each tie they tell me they can't find any reason that it would be doing this. the last two times it happened i recall that it had been raining in my area so i don't know if that is a factor or not but the last time it happened was just before thanksgiving 2006. *nm

 Dt*: the contact stated the engine continued to stall. the dealer replaced 4 fuel injectors, 2 oil lines, and 2 oil pumps. the service dealer was unsure how to rectify the issue. the vehicle stalled while in gear, whether accelerating or not.
