I had these tires as original equipment on my ford f-150 truck and two years ago, both of the back tires literally detonated in separate incidents about three months apart. in each case it beat the heck out of the wheel-well and quarter-panel area and smashed the tailpipe and and gas filler necks shut along with battering the back of the quarter-panel up about 8-10 inches along with tearing out the splash guards in the wheel well. the tire tread was completely gone from the tire casing in both cases.( dot number: )

While driving 60 mph, the rear driver side tire (sentry tru-trac apt, size lt235/75r15, dot-chhk) suddenly had 28 of tread separated from steel belts. tire did not go flat. the separated tire tread damaged pick- up truck qtr panel, and bent the wheel well splash panels' metal support arm into the rear gas tank filler tube, denting it but did not puncture it. all four tires are the same. i plan to have all four replaced even though all still have 9.5/32 to 10/32 tread left on tires which originally had tread depth of 11. *tr

I was driving west on i-40 near ludlow, california, when the right rear tire tread separated . the separation broke the fender well braces and completely closed the exhaust pipe. other pieces were damaged including body damage. i believe the complete closing of the exhaust acted like an engine brake and aided me in being able to control the stop. a california hwy patrol officer helped me change to the spare. the incident so tired me i could not continur to my destination. i had all tires replaced.( dot number: vnhl 1m4 tire size: p235/75r15 )
