Under carriage of truck is completely rusted. frame, brake lines, leaf springs, basically everything. fuel tank looks as if might break off and fall to ground at any moment and leaf spring shackles look as if might break and split truck in half. all dangerous and should be recalled. | |||

Defect discovered this date, but known by manufacturer. exhaust manifold bolts are breaking, leading to exhaust gases leaking under hood which will lead to emission problems. learned that this is a common problem with gm 8 cylinder trucks made from 1999 to 2007, which involves about 12 million vehicles. the repair cost is $800 to $1000, and gm has not recalled or offered to extend warranty to cover the repair. this is clearly a manufacturing defect and gm should be held accountable. |
