| Defect Summary | On certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with liquid propane gas (lpg), it was discovered an excess of lpg hose was coiled in the rear refrigerator access compartment a causing it to be routed close in proximity to the burner flue box cover of the refrigerator. | |||||||||||||||
| Consequence Summary | This could potentially cause thermal damage to the lpg line and produce a leak of lpg in the access compartment that could result in an explosion or fire. | |||||||||||||||
| Corrective Summary | Owners are being asked to inspect the lpg line from the outside of the vehicle to ensure that it is not close to the burner. if no damage to the line is present and the lpg line is the appropriate length and routed correctly, the cover will be reinstalled and no further action will be taken. if an excess of hose is causing contact or close proximity to the burner cover, owners should shut off the supply of gas at the lpg tanks and contact monaco immediately. the recall began december 8, 2004. owners should contact monaco at 1-800-685-6545. | |||||||||||||||

| Traveling at 65 mph on the interstate, my 2003 holiday rambler blew three valve stems out of the tires. the valves separated where the rubber and metal insert went together. the tires went flat right a way and caught fire. i got the trailer off to the side of the road without upsetting it. while looking at the damage the fouth valve stem blew. i was lucky my family and i was not killed. someone with less experience in towing them could upset the trailer and cause a serious accident or kill some one. holiday rambler was notified and told me it was my problem cause the camper was over a year old. holiday rambler is made by monco coach. i feel that monco should pay for the road service and new tires they had to put on to get the camper on the road. *jb | |||
