Defect SummaryOn certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with liquid propane gas (lpg), it was discovered an excess of lpg hose was coiled in the rear refrigerator access compartment a causing it to be routed close in proximity to the burner flue box cover of the refrigerator.
Consequence SummaryThis could potentially cause thermal damage to the lpg line and produce a leak of lpg in the access compartment that could result in an explosion or fire.
Corrective SummaryOwners are being asked to inspect the lpg line from the outside of the vehicle to ensure that it is not close to the burner. if no damage to the line is present and the lpg line is the appropriate length and routed correctly, the cover will be reinstalled and no further action will be taken. if an excess of hose is causing contact or close proximity to the burner cover, owners should shut off the supply of gas at the lpg tanks and contact monaco immediately. the recall began december 8, 2004. owners should contact monaco at 1-800-685-6545.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Dt*: the contact stated the trailer there was an outside safety light which was installed on the wrong side of the door; not providing the appropriate illumination for visibility. the contact has observed many other trailers constructed this way which caused a person to fall getting out of the trailer due to the lack of visibility. the vehicle was taken to the manufacturer but not the dealer. the manufacturer determined the trailer was manufactured this way and were unwilling to make any changes. the vehicle is not a drivable trailer, it attaches to a vehicle. updated 9/13/2006 - *nm

WHEELS - RIM
12/22/2005209/10/2004
Welds are failing on the rims installed on our 2004 holiday rambler presidential fw. replaced one in november, 2nd failure detected 22 dec. 2005. called holiday rambler was told there was a recall they gave me a telephone # for tredit wheel and tire. could not find anyone to talk to there. called holiday rambler, was told the company was probably close for the holidays and could not do anything for my situation. i am a full timer presently parked at ft sam houstion, san antonio tx. i have to leave here by 9 jan and travel another 1000 miles. i consider this a dangerous situation. at present i would have to replace the other 3 rims that have the same sloppy welds and marked made in korea to the tune of about $600.00. this is a obvious manufacture problem that should be corrected immediately. *nm
