 Tl-the contact owns a 2001 hyundai accent. the contact turned on the rear window defroster and attempted to turn it off when he did not need it anymore. a few moments later, he noticed a boom sound. he then noticed that the rear window had a big hole. the window then disintegrated and fell in the rear seat of the vehicle around spider web cracks. the contact also noticed a problem when he attempted to accelerate because the vehicle would not move forward. he believed the failure to be within the transmission. the contact previously heard a boom sound in august 2009. the vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. the contact had not spoken with the dealer or the manufacturer at the time of the complaint. the current mileage was 15,955. the failure mileage was approximately 10,000-bk
VISIBILITY - DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER SYSTEM

 Consumer turned on the defogger and air conditioning mixed in with the heat. this caused the window to fog up. also, poor visibility while driving. consumer took the vehicle to dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the module needed to be replaced. however, consumer's vehicle was not on recall. *ak consumer is hoping that hyundai will modify the defroster system. *la

 Consumers vehicle was parked in garage for about 4 hours, when the vehicle rear middle window shattered. consumer states there was some glass in vehicle. cause is unknown. please provide any further information. ts

 While driving 20 mph with rear window defroster on, consumer smelled something burning. she turned off defroster, and rear window shattered.*ak

 While driving vehicle it is burning a lot of oil. dealer has been notified however unable to remedy the problem.*akthe door windows are loose. the dealer was notified twice. there is decolorization with the steering wheel. the dealer was notified four times. *jg

 Told to contact insurance. refused. told my father i lied and a tree or something else hit my windshield. parents kept fighting. my mother finally told this has happened to two others. took to shop. (i was on my way to college when it happened). *ak
VISIBILITY - WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER

 2001 hyundai accent. while in use, the driver's side wiper swung off without warning while driving in rain on 95 north. wiper was inoperable. the car was taken into the local dealership the next day. the replaced the wiper. the old part is not available. driver's side wiper swung off again in rain while on the road several other times. each time, the bolt was tightened and the wiper was operable again. in 2006, the wiper swung off again during heavy rain. was not able to tighten bolt. took car into dealership. they replaced wiper again. although there were no injuries, there is no warning when the wiper suddenly swings off during operation. the driver suddenly loses visibility out of the driver's side windshield during heavy rain. *jb
