PARKING BRAKE

 While stopping from highway speed and using service brake the air pressure drops activating the low pressure alarm, while using the work brake the air pressure drops to 20psi in 1 min., the emergency brake does not aply spring set parking brake, the problem is intermittent and the consumer believes it is a design flaw (ten wheel straight truck with garbage compactor body). nlm

 After manufacturer's recall 00510 repairs were performed on anti-lock brake system , indicator light on dashboard for the abs continued to come on, 4 times since january 2001, which required this vehicle to be serviced. please provide any additional information/attachments. *ak

 The trucks make a loud and very high pitched air pop noise in the cab while driving and could cause hearing damage. *mjs

 Excessive brake fade due to high temperature of shoes (up to 600 degrees), trucks equipped with left and right hand drive systems (labree system) shoes and drums have to be replaced every 1-8000 miles vs. 15-20000 miles on left hand drive models (rear brakes only) front brakes get to 400 degrees and wear is not an issue. *mjs
