I own a 2000 vehicross by isuzu. i bought it used a few months ago and have 65,000 miles on it. i also owned another 2000 vx that was totaled in an accident. my first one, and this new one has ha the power window mechanism on the driver's side fail, and the passanger side is failing due to a track alignment issue. upon coming in contact with an organization of several hundred vehicross enthusiasts i discovered that this type of window failure is epidemic with this model car. some of the owners have had multiple failures -- i.e., the windows have been fixed only to fail again, sometimes three or four times. i understand isuzu denies there is a problem. on the other hand i understand there are official documents by isuzu that do recognize this problem. since there was a limited distribution of this particular model car -- somewhere in the area of 4000 plus over a four year period -- it appears the window failure rate is a high percentage of that total number. i would ask that the department investigate this problem, including investigation of the internal isuzu document mentioned above. if there is, as it appears, a design flaw in the window mechanism, then there are hundreds of vehicross owners who have improperly been charged to repair it, sometimes multiple times. *ak

I am leasing a 2000 isuzu vehicross. i have had the power windows on both sides of the car either bind or drop down in between the door. once even while i was driving. fortunately for me my warranty has been covering this defect, but it seems that the repair does not last too long. i think much of it has to do with a change in temperature.the first timeboth windows were effected and i was at about 26,000 miles.then 36,000, 40,000 and just recently (6/2005) at 69,000 miles for just the passenger side window. i'm sure the driver's side is about due to happen again so i thought i would file this complaint now. i have been in communication with many vehicross owners that had to pay for their own repairs and this is not fair. even though i have been lucky thanks to my warranty; i still wish to file a complaint. thank you for your time!

I have a continuing power window mechanism problem that is affecting both windows. it was fixed once prior to me purchasing the vehicle. the repairs were not covered by the warranty sice the vehicle was nmore than three years old at the time. through a user group, i've been made aware that the window problem is quite common. isuzu denies that there is a problem.*ak

I bought an isuzu vehicross and for the first month, everything worked fine. 6 weeks after my purchase, my driver side window came completely off track. i have had it fixed 3 separate times, and now my passenger side is starting to fail. isuzu claims it is not a design flaw, but i have spoken with several of their mechanics at various dealers and they've all admitted to this being a very common problem which isuzu won't deal with. *ak

 1) normal use 2) the failure was in both the driver and passenger windows, and it has made dangerous driving conditions. the windows roll down fine, but wont roll back up. it is very frustrating when i am going 60 mph on the highway, and i can't get my windows up, especially when its raining here in the seattle area. there has not been an accident caused by this failure yet, but it is an a problem that needs to be fixed. i have talked with other owners of my vehicle, and they also have the same problem with the windows. the isuzu company has denied any problems with there windows, but is evident there is one. 3) i was told by an isuzu dealership in tacoma, wa to spray silicone in the tracks of the windows. it did help for about 3 hours, then the problem got even worse. it seems that isuzu is turning its back on its customers. *jb
