| Contacted manufacturer - refused to cover under warranty - claims inadequate maintenance - claims roof must be inspected every six months to insure that seals are adequate - extreme danger if roof comes completely off motorhome and comes in contact with trailing vehicle - danger to motorhome occupants due to need to perform emergency repairs on interstate so that motorhome can proceed to exit interstate at nearest ramp - discussions with dealer indicate that this is not the first such incident with itasca products - since many motorhome owners are senior citizens, danger on all counts is exacerbated.*ak | |||

| Dt: without warning in normal weather the treads came off tire and did some damage to motor home. it happened twice to both rear tires. had one tire replaced, and used spare for the other, then he replaced spare tire. dealer and manufacturer have not been contacted yet. *ak as of june 6, 2005, firestone has been contacted and tires are on the way to the manufacturer.*sb | |||

| Problems with tread separation with firestone steeltex tires. *mr the consumer was requesting a re-investigating firestone steeltex tires. the steel belting had pulled away from the tread causing significant damage to the right rear of the coach, on two separate occasions, a tire was found shaped oddly/separating and was very hot to touch, and the last tire blewout on the left side and caused significant damage to the coach again and tore the gas line. *sc *jb | |||

| Purchased new itasca motor home july 1999 has firestone steeltex radial 225/75r16 r4sii. within first 18,000 right front tire blew off tread. firestone says it was caused by over inflation next at 20,000 miles right rear tire threw tread. this time the tread completly separated in such a way that air was still left in the inner tire skin. firestone blammed the failure on shelf life of tire too old this time we demanded new tires. firestone installed 6 new at our expense. less than 2,800 miles, the left rear tire blew out the tread and sidewall. firestone says it was your fault, the tire lost air and you drove on it the last failure caused heavy propety damage.*ak | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1999 itasca sun cruiser. the contact stated that he received a recall notice for the vehicle speed control in september 2007. as of march 24, 2008, the parts were not available. the contact felt that the wait time for part was excessive. the current mileage was 58000 and there had been no failure to date. | |||
