ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - WIRING - INTERIOR/UNDER DASH

With only 7242 miles on a new winnebago itsca suncruiser motor home, we had a double blow out. an entire circle of rubber came off of outside tire and then rest of tire blew out, something poked a hole in the tire behind the blown out tire and it went flat too. goodyear has denied claim stating we drove with underinflated tires for an undetermined period of time. we had tires checked before we departed on 7/6/01 and had no apparent trouble until blowout occurred. the instrument panel in this motor home failed entirely when we got it. it was replaced. then we had to have speedometer repaired again.*ak (tiresize: 245/70r19)
EQUIPMENT - OTHER - LABELS
109/01/2000
According to information furnished by the manufacturer (winnebago industries) and the certification/tire label in the vehicle, the vehicle has a gawr (gross axle weight rating) of 6,000 lbs. front and 12,000 lbs. rear and a total gvwr (gross vehicle weight rating) of 18,000 lbs. by accident, i found stamped into each wheel 2,780 lbs. maximum load. my concern is that if i load the vehicle anywhere close to the maximum stated by the manufacturer, the wheels would be overloaded which could potentially lead to a catastrophic failure. i feel that this situation is at least a safety concern if not a defect. i was not aware of this situation at the time i purchased the vehicle. i am now concerned about the safety of my family when riding in this vehicle. *ak
