My name is kathleen jankowski. i am taking my car in tomorrow (2/19/04) to have the throttle post(?) replaced. they (the service people) have advised me that this is normal with age. the problem is the accelerator sticks at various positions and makes the car extremely dangerous to drive. the price quote was $650. i asked if jaguar covered this and was told no, it is normal wear. i find that hard to accept given all the recalls over less important items. i believe if they (the service people) know this, it is a design defect and would like to have you comment on this. the right answer from you would be: we will cover the costs because we would prefer to have you as a happy and alive customer rather than any other option. i am not sure why i should bear the cost to replace this part when it is obviously not related to my driving or to car maintenance. 1995 jaguar xj6, 69,500 miles, vin sajxh1742sc750693. please let me know what my rights are and how i should proceed. i will have the vehicle repaired because it is unsafe to drive as is. i do expect to hear from you soon. thank you. kathleen p. jankowski 1504 n. lincoln street wilmington, de 19806 302-545-0086 (cell phone) service: union park jaguar. *ak pennsylvania avenue wilmington, de e-mail: kathy_rob2001@yahoo.com. *ak | |||
