Defect SummaryJayco is recalling 74 my 1999-2001 designer fifth wheel motor homes equipped with norcold refrigerators. a fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak.
Consequence SummaryExtended operation of a leaking cooling unit could lead to a fire from gas which might escape.
Corrective SummaryJayco is working with norcold to repair these refrigerators. norcold will provide thermal switch kits to owners along with the necessary forms and instructions. the recall began on june 23, 2008. owners may contact norcold at 1-800-767-9101 or jayco at 1-574-825-5861.

Defect SummaryVehicle description: travel and fifth wheel trailers. the fasteners used on the underfloor can either come loose or pull through the underfloor causing portions or all of a section of underfloor to detach from the vehicle.
Consequence SummaryIf this occurred, the section could fall to the pavement, potentially causing a crash for following vehicles.
Corrective SummaryDealers will add or replace fasteners. owner notification began september 28, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact jayco at 1-219-825-5861.

Consequence SummaryOverheating could result in smoke or burning, and in an underhood fire.

 Dt*: the contact stated there are no problems with the camper. there is a nhtsa recall, #01v251000 on the vehicle regarding the structure. the parts needed to repair the vehicle are not available at the local dealership. the manufacturer confirmed the parts are not available.

 The consumer received recall notice 01v-251, and wanted the dealer to tow his motor home and repair it, however the dealer refused to tow the motor home, he told them to bring the motor home in so he can fix the recall. *yh

 With gross weight of 14,050 is lbs motorhome cannot haul canned goods/food/clothing, and camping gear since these items would make vehicle overweight. *ak

 On two separate occasions passenger's side front and driver's side rear tires blew out. dealership replaced both tires, but the cause of the blow out was undetermined.*ak

 While traveling on highway right rear wheel bolt that holds spring came out of housing, about 3 1/4 of the way. consumer states could have lost whole axle. please provide any further information. *ak
