Gas tank overflows every single time it is filled up, if it wasn't for me having to hold in the nozzle the entire time and noticing it is overflowing, it would just keep overflowing gas onto the ground.

While taking vehicle through a routine emission. when mechanic states gas tank is not pressuring through the fuel line. mechanic stated there is no heat shield to protect gas tank, allowing gas tank to melt. consumer feels vehicle may blow up. mr the consumer was notified that the fuel line was worn, so the line was replaced, and the vehicle failed the emissions exam again due to pressurization in the fuel line. the vehicle was taken to the dealer again and was informed that where the gas tank was dropped, it had no heat shield, and had melted spots with two holes in the tank. the mechanic stated that this was a fire hazard, should not be driven until repaired, and a manufacturing issue. scc

Chrysler file no. 10175031. this also relates to nhtsa campaign no. 94v106000. this is the second time the fuel tank gasket cracked or broke causing fuel and fuel vapor leaks which is most probably related to the fuel tank lining separation which chrysler just discovered on my vehicle. chrysler has rejected my claim to replace at no charge the fuel tank in which the lining has separated. however, this is not a moving part and is a very dangerous defect in design, manufacturing, or assembly. i also request a copy of chrysler's file(s) in these complaints. i also request a copy of all technical and service bulletins relating to these complaints and the gas tank and fuel system. chrysler is advised that i will not be spending over $600 to replace this fuel tank and any and all resulting damages will be squarely chrysler's liablity. there is premature rust and resulting structrual failure caused by chrysler saving money by not applying a clear coat top coat over the paint on this vehicle. the outside mirrors fold in at interstate speeds and cannot be tightened.

Gas tank came loose at seams, and tank leaked gasoline all over the ground. *ak consumer states after further investigating the fuel tank, it was not leaking at the seams, there seems to be a crack on the right lower side of the tank, consumer replaced the tank with the same type of plastic.*jb

Fuel tank is plastic which has collapsed inward, impacting fuel sending unit and fuel pump. this modle vehicle has a recall item # 624 for fuel tank gasket due to fuel leaks, but does not resolve tank failure. with tank failing (collapsing inward) potential exists for major failure, fuel spillage, fire, etc.
