| Vin 2j4fy4955nj504046 i have a 1992 jeep wrangler saraha yj with about 150,000 miles. this is the third time that the tilt steering column broke. there seems to be a shear pin which keeps the tilt steering mechanism in position. when the shear pin breaks the tilt steering just flops up and down. periodically the shear pin on the tilt steering breaks. it just broke again for the third time in about 5 years. it costs about $300 to fix. the mechanic said that this vehicle has a propensity for this problem. | |||
