I was leaving home at 6:00am to go to work and the small red light for engine problems came on. then the low tire pressure light came on, then went off and so did the red light. there is nothing i could do at that time of the morning so i limped to work, 25 miles of on/off/on/off/on gets to you. i called the dealer and they said to bring it in. i did and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and couldn't make the light come back on. over the next couple of months, the red light would come on but not the tire light. what is wrong with my jeep? if the light doesn't come on, they can't fix it??? it doesn't come on by command. and it is still coming on/off/on/off.

Everything is normal and working, you try to start the car and there is a click then nothing. i then move the shifter to neutral and start the car then move shifter back to park. there are no codes being registered if you plug in a diagnostic machine and i've had several competent mechanics check it out to no avail. this is happening .to many other people and isn't an isolated incident, which is why i'm reporting it. it appears to be an electrical issue, a grounding issue to be specific.

I started my 2008 jeep wrangler jk and immediately got a check engine light with an audible sound. the engine was running very rough and shaking. i turned off the engine and it seemed fine but the check engine light was still on. i have a obd2 diagnostic code reader and it showed the code p0306. this is a misfire on the number six cylinder. i took it to larry h. miller chrysler jeep dodge ram dealership in albuquerque and this is what was done. wi tech diagnostics for fault codes, had store codes for injector #6 circuit, no work done, operating as per design. i asked what can be done to fix the problem and [xxx] said that the tech could not duplicate the problem so they could not fix anything. [xxx] offered to perform a fuel injector cleaning but this was the only options for now. the next day i started the jeep and had the same issue. i looked up this code 0306 on the jeep jk site and read posts of pentastar problem. in all cases these people had to visit the dealership 4 to 5 times until they fixed the problem. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

While driving at night, the horn, front wipers, washers, rear wipers, and reverse lights all came on without warning. pulled to side of road and turned off car but engine did not turn off. opened hood and hit top of t.i.p.m. (totally integrated power module). horn, wipers, washers, and engine stopped. this is a common problem with 2007-2009 wranglers that jeep fails to accept. it is unsafe because you cannot stop the engine or see where you are going when the washer fluid starts running. this is the 3rd time in 2 years this has done this. *tr

Tl - the contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler. the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where he was advised that there was a leak on the surface of the engine. the contact called the manufacturer regarding the engine leak and the manufacturer stated that there was nothing they could do because the vehicle was not under warranty. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a second diagnostic test which determined that the front crankshaft seal would have to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 84,000. the current mileage was 85,000. kmj

On occasion my jeep will not crank. the key will turn on, dashboard lights will come on, but just will not crank. the battery has been checked and is good. after several tries it will finally crank. this occurs at no certain time of day. it sometimes has happened 3 days in a row. other times a week will pass before it happens again.

On november 19, 2007 as i was reversing out of a parking space at a restaurant, i noticed that my brakes were not working and quickly noticed a red dot light above my fuel gauge. i had to pull my parking brake in order to avoid rolling any further. i tried several times to start my car again. initially, several lights lit up on the dashboard and the motor seemed to respond to turning the key in the ignition. however, after each attempt, the engine cut off after a few quick seconds. after several attempts, there was no response at all to turning the key in the ignition. the car was completely inoperable. this was the second time this had happened. i was actually just a mile down the road from just picking up my jeep from the dealership where it had been serviced for the past 8 days for the exact same issue. i had literally just picked up the vehicle after being told that the issue was finally resolved. the actual receipt from the service shop shows that 0.2 hours were spent on fixing the issue which involved the wcm module. the 8 days where it sat at the dealership consisted of 2 days of no diagnosis, essentially just sitting at the dealership; 1 day when the wcm module was ordered after diagnosis; and the rest of the time spent waiting for the part to arrive and placed on the car. the first stall occurred in my driveway with my daughter and her friends in the vehicle. i was able to just move the kids into the house with no real safety incident. however, this second incident led to me rolling into parking lot traffic and towards the restaurant sidewalk and building. the parking space was at an incline which allowed the stalled out car to gain momentum as it rolled backward. fortunately since this was the second incident i quickly realized what was happening and immediately pulled the parking brake. however i did wind up in the middle of the parking lot blocking traffic in and out of the lot. *tr
