 1. driving van on highway when esc and check engine warning lights came on simultaneously. 2. vehicle suddenly loses all acceleration. has happened twice in the past two weeks, both times at highway speeds. 3. dealership indicates that this is a chronic issue with multiple models and that replacement parts have been redesigned to reduce failure, but that issues are so prevelant that parts are on back order and that it may take 2 weeks or 2 months to receive parts to correct the problem.

 Tl-the contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. while driving 60 mph and try to slow down as the brake was being depress there was sudden acceleration. the gear had to be thrust into neutral as the rpm kept increasing excessively. the vehicle was pull to the side of the road turned the engine off and then on. the vehicle was driven to the dealer who informed him after running a diagnostic test there are no codes showing and if there are no codes they cannot duplicate the failure. the vehicle acclerated at least three times after the dealer ran the diagnostic test. the manufacturer was contacted and stated if the dealer cannot duplicate the failure they cannot repair the vehicle. they offered no other assistance. the failure mileage was 44,609-mw

 Tl*the contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. the contact noticed that the computer in the vehicle would sometimes accelerate on its own. the first instance occurred while test driving the vehicle. the vehicle accelerated when he removed his foot from the brake pedal. the dealer stated that the failure was caused by the vehicle being parked on the sales lot for months. two weeks after purchasing the vehicle, the failure recurred. while driving in reverse at 20 mph, the contact crashed into a fencepost due to the failure. he took the vehicle to the dealer nine times for a diagnostic, but no error codes could be found. the manufacturer did not assist. the current mileage was 42,833 and failure mileage was 30,193.
