| Tl*the contact owns a 2000 mercury cougar. in 2006, the contact was involved in a crash and was struck by six vehicles. the air bags failed to deploy. there were no warning indicators on the instrument panel. he stated that he has been involved in numerous crashes due to dodging road debris, which caused his vehicle to be rear ended and crash into a tree. the air bags have never deployed in any of his crashes. the dealer and the manufacturer have not offered any assistance and stated that nothing could be done due to the lack of safety risk. the speed was unknown. the current mileage was 51,000 and the failure mileage was unknown. | |||

| Dt*: the contact stated that the vehicle's airbags did not deploy after hitting an embankment and flipping over on its top. the vehicle was traveling 55 mph when the vehicle was swerved to avoid hitting a deer, which caused the contact to lose control of the vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. one person was injured and a police report was filed. the vehicle was totaled, according to the tow truck driver. the dealer has not been alerted. | |||

| My daughter was driving my 2000 mercury cougar on september 25 ,2006. when another vehicle went through a stop sign &they collided. she hit him with her front end & then proceeded to swerve head on into a telephone pole . so this makes two front end collisions & the air bags never deployed. in fact she had another accident in sept 2003 where a car went through a red light and hit her,but that was a side impact & again this air bag did not deploy. so this has been three incidents that this air bag did not deploy & this past one on monday was front end collision & my daughter has damage to her chest & rib cage , which could have been avoided if the air bags worked properly! *nm | |||

| Air bag light comes on intermittently, blinks 7 times pauses and repeats until vehicle is shut off and restarted. taken to dealership mulitple times starting with 2 years ago, but was informed that they could not check it unless it was blinking at the time. was advised to bring it back while it's blinking. blinking usually occurs on my way to work or after the dealership hours. i have looked this problem up in my repair manual cd and found the problem was that one of the airbag sensors was not working properly. i'm concerned about my safety if there is an accident if the air bag will deploy or not with this problem. i know multiple owners of this vehicle with this problem and one who has this problem and was in an accident where air bag did not deploy for a 100 mph impact. my air bag light continues with this problem.*ak | |||

| I was in a minor mva in which the airbags both deployed. damage to my vehicle was cosmetic but i haven't been the same since. i suffer from attacks of vertigo, dizziness, blurred vision, light hypersensitivity, loudness sensitivity and have constant tinnitus to name a few. airbags should be optional equipment and all exsisting auto's with them should have on/off switches installed. | |||
