I was driving on the highway and noticed that my steering was not working well. my engine was overheating and eventually shut off. i had to pull over on the side of the highway. when i got someone to look at the car, we realized it had no coolant. we filled up the coolant and everything seemed fine. about a month later i noticed that the engine was making the same noise as it had before as if it were working too hard. i checked the coolant and it was completely empty again. i have a friend who also owns the mm and had the same problem. the repair and cost of a new radiator was 1500. ford/merucy needs to do a recall on this product and get it taken care of. i just purchased this car in january and should not have to be spending so much money on a repair. *tr

My transmission jerks as i accelerate during travel. to me it's geting worse. i have had it looked at. no codes are showing that i have a problem. but clearly something is wrong. i have done this several times, still no codes to indicate anything is wrong with my vehicle. also my gas sensors are shot. engine light goes in and out. my vehicle has stopped in the middle of atlant traffic, causing problems of other vehicles traveling in the direction that i am with children. i also have the problem with backing my vehicle, it jerks before backing.

I am the owner of a 2007 mercury mountaineer. it has about 64,000 miles on it, most of them highway miles. i have a leak in my radiator. the dealer says it is a defect in the radiator, and no corrosion is present. it is out of warranty, so i must bear the cost of replacement of the radiator. cost ~$700. i do not drive off road, so there is no valid reason the radiator should have failed. during an internet search, i discovered this is a common problem with 2006 and 2007 mercury mountaineers and ford explorers. this issue should be investigated, and ford held accountable for putting defective parts in their vehicles.

I have a 2007 mercury mountaineer with 42,000 miles on it and was notified by my dealership that there is a leak in the radiator and it needs to be replaced. my dealership told me this was common problem with mountaineers but ford will not stand behind the equipment.
