| Numerous heating cooling problems. incorrect temperature gauge, overheating, radiator fans not coming on, erratic fan operation, water leaking in from firewall pouring into the blower motor causing blown fuses, faulty blower motors and soaking carpets. wiring problems causing fuses to blow when fans would kick on, a/c was turned on, or dash would emit smoke when the parking break was engaged with the vehicle running, erratic gauge cluster, off and on gauges, interior lights failure. *nm | |||

| My grandfather owns a 1995 plymouth neon and the paint is chipping off so badly that it is turning white and i don't appreciate it. it looks crazy and that is not how a business is ran. my cousin has the same exact car and her paint is almost 60% gone and that is so unprofessional someone needs to be held resposible what the heck is going on here. is anyone going to be held responsible? with malfunctions like this i will never do business with this company again. and i will also let every person that will listen how horrible this company treats its consumers.*ak | |||

| 1995 2 dr neon, the paint started bubbling and then peeling 6 months ago. almost all the paint on the roof is gone, as well as the back of the trunk. the rear drivers side by the back window is also missing a lot of paint.*ak i live in the phoenix area and almost daily see up to 6 other white neons with the same problem. | |||

| The paint on my neon--as well as a fleet of neons at my work--is coming off in large chunks. my roof is completely bare, and my trunk and other sections are close. the dealer said it is a problem that is caused by a faulty primer they used, but they have offered to only pay half the cost to repaint. it seems the manufacturer should be held responsible for all costs since it would never have happened if it weren't for their failure.no safety defect mentioned in summary. *ak | |||

| Defective headgasket caused erosion and damage to the head, chrysler denies to cover cost of $2500. there are many reports on the internet of broken headgaskets in the neons and chrysler admits to the defect and pays to repair some, but says vehicle has too many miles and consumer is a third owner so they won't cover it. *ak on 22-feb-2002 consumers son was hit head on by another vehicle traveling at 35 mph, the driver and passenger airbags did not deploy, the vehicle caught fire on impact, consumer was injured in accident, the doors would not open, consumer had to crawl out of the windows. *slc | |||

| After a rain, the paint started coming off in sheets. received estimate of about $895.00 for repair and submitted to dealership. dealership responded after about 5 months of constant calling and going by dealership and they said they would only pay 25% of repair bill. paint repair shop said it would not do any good to spot paint because there are signs of other areas starting to peel. no, safety defect. *ak | |||

| A special nut and bolt needs to be added to the frame cross member to stop the frame from bumping the driver side floor board. special seal, springs, and nuts and bolts are needed where the exhaust pipe mounts to the manifold - otherwise it comes loose. the light shut off and come back on while driving. | |||
