 There are no injuries or fatalities associated with this alleged defect.while conducting this investigation, odi found that the subject cinches meet the load bearing requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard 208, and that many of the reported failures were due to incorrect child safety seat installations. additionally, the report rate is low (1.60/100k).the information available fails to establish the existence of a defect trend at this time.further allocation of agency resources to this issue is unwarranted and the preliminary evaluation is being closed.

 In october while driving on the highway with two friends there was a leak in exhuast system. because everyone in vehicle fell asleep, they ran off the road and hit a 10 foot enbankment. passenger suffered some serious injuries to hip/head,/rm, and some internal bleeding. all consumers in vehicle were wearing seat belts. air bags did not deploy. there was no prior warning as to air bags and exhaust system failures. *ak *slc

 Rear passenger's side seat belt latch keeps on breaking. consumer took vehicle to dealer , and they said it was the clip on the latch that broke. consumer had it repaired 4 times. consumer fears for the safety of the children. *ak

 While traveling approximately 30 mph rear-ended another vehicle. during this crash, both driver's and passenger's restraint belts failed to lock and properly secure the occupants. vehicle had not been examined by dealership or insurance company. *note: passenger has experienced back pain since this incident happened. please provide any additional information / attachments.*ak

 Consumer was driving into an intersection of an apartment complex and another vehicle was traveling in same direction and hit her head-on . seat belt wasn't secured properly, and airbag didn't deploy. dealership was aware problem. consumer sustained some injuries. *ak

 Tl* the contact owns a 2000 plymouth neon. while a child seat technician attempted to install a restraint system the rear driver seat belt buckle fractured. no repairs were made. the failure and current mileages were 111,111. the vehicle identification number was unavailable.
