Defect SummaryVehicle description: passenger vehicles. in the presence of oil and heat, the brake booster vacuum hose could swell and loosen from the intake manifold.
Consequence SummaryThis could cause a loss of power brake assist and an increase in engine idle speed.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the brake booster vacuum hose. owner notification began july 2, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

 Broken tie rod ends both sides, transmission failure, head gasket failure, read door driver's side will not close at all, trunk will not unlock with key, brakes wear every 3 to 4 months, high rate of oil burn off. the car had less than 60,000 miles on it. *tr

 Constant problems with vehicle since time of purchase when it only had 500 miles & was supposed to be "new". it's the worst vehicle i've ever owned. i wouldn't recommend this headache to anyone!

 Consumer received recall notice (00v-154). however the dealer had no parts for repair, consumer states for the past year vehicle was accelerating on its own, consumer believes that the problem may have been related to the recall componet.*jb

 The consumer received a recall (01v-154) notice about brake vacuum hose,but had to make three trips for getting it fixed. the vehicle began making noise after the repair and the consumer went to another dealer and found it the previous dealer had not stalled the recall parts.*yh
