| We have turned our van in for repair of our abs brake light that has come on, the brakes have made loud noises, and it takes the van a little longer to stop. the dates we submitted to car for repair were 9 sep 96, 6 dec 96, 18 jun 98, 20 apr 99, and today 26 nov 99. all past times we were told there was no problem they could see. the brake area was cleaned and that was it. one time we were told it could have been because we didn't have oem brake pads on. the brakes stop very irregularly when the condition happens. sometimes they work perfect, other times the brakes don't catch for a second or two. because it is now winter here in germany where i'm stationed with the army, a couple second brake delay can be dangerous on the icy hills we have here. | |||

| Engine head gaskets blewout 3 times, and engine heads cracked twice. dealer claimed defect was due to radiator. *ak consumer first had problem with vechile leaking oil, dealer replaced the valve cover and head gasket, vehicle leaked again and dealer replaced the front cam and crankseal, vehicle leaked oil a third time and dealer replaced cam seal and pcv valve, dealer later found cracked cylinder head and scored piston and replaced both, vehicle then began to overheat, dealer stated it needed a new thermostat, however it overheated again and the cylinder head had cracked again, later dealer stated that the radiator was the source of the problem, that it was causing the engine to overheat and it caused cylinder head to crack, consumer stated that the temperature gauge never indicated any overheating except for the 2 times mentioned. left axle replaced due to vibration, left axle shaft. brake ligh ton, parking brake was sticking. dealer replaced torque converter and leaking front pump in the transmission. rotors were turned and dealer replaced brake pads due to brake wear. new dashboard installed. repairs to airbag. *slc | |||

| Airbag/rear wiper fuse - we drove the car for over a year with the airbag light on. dealer refused to diagnose the problem but assured us that airbag was functional. had recall work performed by dealer on 25 aug 1999. fuse blew again on 3 sep 1999. brake problem - brake warning light has come on twice while driving on expressway. dealer refuses to attempt diaganosis, as they can't replicate the problem. | |||

| Due to the hot weather in phoenix, ceremic caliper? melted to brake and caused the brakes to cease up causing instant loss of brakes, no warning, drove 4 additonal miles to repair shop after hearing loud grinding, repair shop stated that breaks were ceased due to melted component and within miles would have broken off and severed brake line causing instant failure of vehile brakes. this he noted is common to the pymouth voyegar and dodge caraven in the phoenix. since this is a family van, i am only grateful we did not have the kids in the car when complete failure occur. no warning before it happened. seems the ceramic part is manufacturer error if they don't work in hot weather.*ak | |||

| While driving, another vehicle pulled in front of the consumer, the consumer applied the brakes and the vehicle slowed down, but the pedal went to the floor, the consumer was able to maneuver to the shoulder and used the emergency brake. the vehicle was taken to a mechanic who stated the brake lines, the rubber hose and the metal tubing all had to be replaced. the rubber hose had numerous cracks and the metal tubing which failed contained extreme rust. *ak *jb | |||
