Observed that the driver's side strut tower is rusted through two layers of metal and perforated over half the way around front top of the strut tower. vehicle has no other body rust except this shock / strut tower area and there needs to be a safety recall to repair this defective item before further abnormal corrosion causes the metal to fail and forcing the strut through the hood and into the windshield of the vehicle causing an accident or injuries. *tr

Found blistering steel on left strut tower. was concerned because strut top is supported by the tower. used a screwdriver and hammer to knock rusted metal loose. found holes clear through the metal into the wheel well. took the vehicle to the dealer. was told this is a common problem with a bulletin from chrysler corporation. was told the vehicle could be repaired for $350.00 dollars. had vehicle repaired and paid the bill. i feel that this is a defect in the vehicle design that is unsafe. chrysler should have a recall and reimburse people for the repairs. i have taken digital photographs of the rust damage. *nm

Clockspring safety recall for 1999 plymouth voyager.*mr the clockspring assembly that connects steering wheel mounted electrical components to the electrical sytem on minivan may lose the electrical connection to those components. this could cause the driver's airbag, horn speed control system and/or steering wheel mounted radio controls to be inoperative. *bf

Complaint received via e-mail. i have a serious concern regarding a rusted cover housing on suspension springs on the front, drivers side of my 1999 plymouth voyager van. i would not have been aware of this defect if i had not had my motor power washed recently. the man that cleaned it pointed out this seriously rusted cover above the suspension ,and told me it could collapse, causing the entire suspension to project up and through the windshield, and cause a serious accident. this was common on plymouth voyagers. i also inquired at a body shop, and was given the same information, and a shown a picture of a car they were presently working on which happened to be the exact same 1999 plymouth voyager as mine! dealer said that this was common on this vehicle model. i went to the dealership, and they told me to contact chrysler corporation by calling their 800 number. upon calling t customer service i was informed they would make a note of my concern but there was nothing they could do. consumer believed this was a serious safety factor that should be taken care sooner rather than later, before a life threatening accident would occur. *ak
