| This vehicle is having multiple problems, gm never lets me know of any recalls. i understand that today they have recalled them again for a problem in the steering but i cannot find any information. very upset that i have to pay to get this thing fixed! really need a new car now. the gas gauge or tank is empty when the gauge shows 1/2 tank. side door we unplugged because it would not close and the light still shows on my dash as open. many times it simply would not open. in a crash we would not be able to open any doors if the vehicle was running. the transmission is leaking badly. we replaced it once only to have this happen again. we use a lot of fluid and oil. the engine is running very poorly, would not pass emissions. interior lights will not work. van looks new on outside except the hood which had no primer ed and now has chips on it. we don't know what to do, we cannot afford a new car nor fix this one. | |||

| Driver's and passenger's outside door handles have three bolts, and the one in the middle snapped off. because of that, consumer was unable to get inside of vehicle. consumer had filed a complaint with manufacturer, gm number 992468501. *ak | |||

| Door handle broke inside the door assembly. i know of several friends that have experienced the same problem with this same type and year vehicle. somewhere both handles have broken. when i contacted several gmc dealerships and spoke to their service managers, all stated in one form or another that this is a common problem as the metal used in the manufacturing of the broken part is the cause. the repair ranges from $100-150. i further have read e-mails and articles in the newspaper and web sites(www.cars.com) of many others having this same problem. this vehicle is primarily driven by my wife. gmc should make a recall of this clearly obvious, manufacturer defect immediately. i am worried that the handle will possibly break not allowing her to get into her vehicle in an emergency situation. in 1995 we paid over $20,000 for this van as it was a top of the line van. it is simply rediculous that a door handle part does not last but 50,000 miles. furthermore, since i am finding countless others that have and are having the very same failures of all gm makes and models of minivans of this period. *ak | |||

| Middle rear lap belt locks up and could not be used. dealer replaced the lap belt after taking the vehicle in five times. also the door handles have broken and fallen off the driver's and passenger's doors. occupants can exit the vehicle but not enter. please add any other details. *ak | |||

| Automatic sliding door runs electronically and breaks frequently. vehicle has been in for repair 20 times in past 30 months. when door is not operating electronically, it is difficult to open or close; also, passenger cannot exit in case of an accident. *ak | |||
