Consequence SummaryThe nut can eventually come off allowing the steering wheel to separate from the steering shaft, loss of vehicle control, and increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

 Tl*the contact owns a 1994 toyota camry. while driving on a snow covered surface at 10 mph, the contact began experiencing steering failure. prior to the failure, the brakes were serviced. the vehicle was taken back to a local mechanic who previously serviced the brakes and rotors who stated that the bolts were missing from a previous brake repair. the failure mileage was approximately 128,000 and the current mileage was 18,934.

 Power steering leaking, engine stops running when going though water and is splashed up in engine compartment.also, two power window regulators inoperative. sametimes was told the rubber seal was too tigh., water pump leaking, engine overheated cause water cap (1994). the valve covers was leaking oil in 1998, could it be from overheating ? my son has the same year and type camry and his power steering pump/water pump leaked but was found eailer than mine under 60000 miles. *ak

 The plastic covering for the steering wheel is slipping off the steering wheel, allowing the driver to turn the cover, but steering wheel remains in place, making it hard to turn while driving. dealer says needs glue to reattach covering. *ak

 Toyota is making me claim the damage through my insurance company. there is a recall notice out for this but i did not receive one. they just started going out in december. this will pay for body damage, but what about lost resale value, lost work time etc.?
