2004 toyota camry xle v6 sunroof stucked. while driving on a highway at 65mph with the sunroof fully opened, it began to rain. i attempted to close it and it would not close. i tried to pull over, but with the rain and some hail on my eyes, it was hard to see the road. i almost had an accident because my sunroof would not close. the dealer informed me that these cars have issues with sunroofs getting stuck, but because my car is out of warranty the dealer will not pay. dealer estimated approximately $1,200 will cost to fix it.

The 2004 toyota camry se was driven about 25 miles on the freeway prior to the accident. i was parking in a hospital parking garage. my foot was on the brake as i was parking. the car was about 3 feet from a concrete wall, then the car accelerated forward. the car crashed, ruined the bumper and other parts beneath the fiberglass. i had a large bruise from the seatbelt and my 6 month old daughter was screaming in the back seat. i got us out of the car quickley, the car however was still trying the go forward inot the wall since it was still in drive. i got back in and turned the car off. the police would not come and file a report since it was on private property, so we filed a report with the hospital's building security. the car was towed to a toyota collision shop and still remains there today. we have been waiting for toyota to come out and inspect the car and we cannot move or fix the car until they have their inspection. this was about a month ago. we have been getting nothing but the run around from toyota both at the dealership where we bought the car and from the national corporation of toyota. we will be seeking a lawyer.

While driving in heavy rain a/c button started flashing and all windows fogged up. i took it to the dealership 3-31-07, they performed diagnosis and replaced a/c magnetic clutch relay. next heavy rain on april 14, 2007, the ac/button started flashing and all windows fogged up. i took the car to the dealership and they found the clutch assembly shorting when wet. replaced clutch assembly. in august, during a heavy rain, the a/c button started flashing and all windows fogged up. i took the car to the dealership and they said the a/c belt was not tight. they tighten the a/c belt and said if it happened again, the belt would have to be replaced. today, october 15, 2007, the same thing happened. i haven't taken it to the dealership because i don't think they can fix the problem. *tr

V6 engine, 5 speed transmission'; return true; onmouseout=window.status=''; return true;>automatic transmission'; return true; onmouseout=window.status=''; return true;>automatic transmission'; return true; onmouseout=window.status=''; return true;>automatic transmission. vehicle fails to accelerate for several seconds after the accelerator is pressed following a stop. appears to happen after a quick rolling stop and when the air conditioner having to work. car is unpredictable, it will start moving after the accelerator is pressed in these circumstances. this can cause an accident due to the unpredictable nature of throttle hesitation. *jb car also hunts for gears at slower speeds causing uncomfortable ride as the car lurches forward at unpredictable times after the accelerator is pressed. vehicle has been taken to the service department of the dealer the car was purchased from. i was told this was a problem with all the v6 camry's which the dealer could not fix. i was asked to bring the car in for further testing, which i did, but nothing has been done to attempt to fix the vehicle. *jb the vehicle jerked the consumer around as gears where shifted. the consumer stated that the vehicle searches for the right gear while traveling at low speeds. *tc *jb

The security system malfunctioned. the brake pedal and gas pedal to close result in sometimes pushing both pedals at once. *bf the brake pedal was 4 3/4 inches wide and he bottom of the consumers shoes was 4 1/2 inches wide. the gas pedal was over to the center of the brake pedal. the consumer would have to shift his bottom or twist his foot inward and push down on the brake pedal because his knee would not bend sideway. *sc

This incident involves changing a flat tire (front passenger side) on my 2004 toyota camry. this was the first time i have had to change a tire since i bought this vehicle new in 2004. i loosened the lug nuts slightly and then placed the jack under the car as indicated in the owner's manual. as i started to raise the car, i noticed that the jack was twisting under the weight of the vehicle. i then lowered the vehicle, repositioned the jack and tried again. the jack appeared to be slightly twisted but not as much as the first attempt. i removed the lug nuts and took off the flat tire. at this time the jack fell over and the car came to rest on the wheel rotor. the car was on level ground during this incident. my feeling is that this jack is not sufficiently designed to lift a vehicle of this weight and could cause serious personal injury and/or property damage under some circumstances. *jb

Ltr of complaint re the unsafe jack for spare tire installation provided with the new 2004 toyota camry le.*mr the consumer and his son performed the recommended tire rotation at 5000 miles. when the vehicle was jacked in the front, the car moved backwards while lifting to clear the front tire. this occurred on flat ground. the consumer feels this occurred due to a poorly designed jack base. *nm
