2005 4 door toyota camry. back driver's side door in locked position and does not open at all. called gateway toyota in toms river, nj and they stated we would have to pay for repairs. this car has not been involved in an accident. online complaints from other toyota camry owners show this is a manufacturer's problem and is occurring quite often. with children in back seat this is a big problem if an emergency were to occur!

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 toyota camry . the contact stated that in hot weather the power door lock button inside will only open the driver side door and not the other three doors. also if he unlocks the vehicle manually it will do the same. the button inside has to be pulled on so that the three other doors will unlock. the dealer was informed about the failure and they stated that they will have to diagnose it. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 50000 and the current mileage was 53000.cv

Actuators in my 2005 camry se continue to stick; thereby causing all of the passenger doors to not open the majority (90%) of the time. i reported the issue immediately to toyota corporate and the dealer (baierl toyota in cranberry, pa) because it's also a safety risk; especially since i have a 3 month year old and a 2 year old. the toyota mechanic also reported that this should not be happening and the actuators should be replaced.

I have a 2005 toyota camry. the driver's side door is the only door that has an outside lock that works with a key. the lock began not working either with the key or with the remote. the dealer replaced the lock assembly and actuator for approximately $500.00. now the rear passenger side door has failed. again they are telling me i need a new actuator. there are many complaints online from other 2005 toyota camry owners that describe this same failure. it seems to be a common problem for not only 2005 but other years. here are a few out there also for 2005 camrys: http://www.carcomplaints.com/toyota/camry/2005/electrical/rear_door_lock_gets_stuck.shtml http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2005/toyota/camry/door+latch http://www.2carpros.com/forum/2005-toyota-camry--driver-side-door-automatic-door-unlock-do-vt198187.html. *tr
