Vehicle started from parked condition. as operator tapped the gas pedal lightly to take it out of parked condition, the vehicle suddenly had a very high speed causing loss of control and the vehicle hit a house. apparently it caused a open throttle condition. pressing brake only aggravated the condition (adding more speed) . this happened with an experienced driver with over 10 years of driving record and 0 incident (not even a parking ticket). all earlier recall were done by dealer. *tr

I took my 2007 camry le (~30k mileage) in for 5k mile service (via my toyota prepaid maintenance contract 4 yr/55k.) & technician found a leaking front strut. i was told that i'll have to replace the strut & do the alignment for ~$1100 from my own pocket. he mentioned that the the struts is heavily leaking. when i asked him, how it happened, he said that it didn't happen overnight & happens gradually. since it is not under warranty anymore (toyota never told me about this leak on purpose, when it was under warranty), the guy said that i'll have to pay for all expenses. toyota is a fraud company & should pay for all these damages for hiding the truth from customers so that they 'll wait until the warranty is over & then they'll try to rip off the customer. i'll appreciate if some one can pay attention to this issue & ask for recall of these faulty struts as soon as possible, since there are too many complaints for 2007 toyota camry especially when you need to replace struts at so less mileages (~30,000) !!!!

I took my 2007 camry (approx. 36,000 mileage) in for 5000 mile service (oil change, fluid checks, tire rotation, etc.) technician found a leaking front strut. i was told they would replace the one strut. after checking online and speaking with toyota customer experience center at 1-800-331-4331 a case number was opened and it was recommended by a technician that struts be replaced as a pair. car has had a very floaty, bouncy, out of control feel on highway dips. it is saturday so i am awaiting a call on monday as to whether or not the dealer/service department will replace as a pair. i have toyota platinum coverage with no deductible so this should be free but i see enough complaints online regarding this issue to feel i should also report it.

Toyota camry 2007 - persistent vibration steering at highway speed - not being resolved by a series of attempts such as balancing, tire replacement, alignment, brake component replacement. the steering vibration was part of a toyota service bulletin but despite the specific instruction on how to fix the problem, the vibration was never eliminated. lately, vehicle also showing vibration when braking - also at highway speeds. brake repaired at dealer without results. toyota dealer has provided no further resolution option. the concern is if this is a result of the original steering vibration with the vehicle showing further deterioration.

February 5, 2010 re: leaky struts on toyota camry i have purchased my 2007 toyota camry from dch toyota dealership in simi valley. i have been informed by 2 certified mechanics outside of the dealership that my struts were leaking. they found the problem when they did an oil change, brakes and tire replacements. i took the car to dch toyota for an inspection when the car had only 30,000 miles on it, they said that it was normal seepage and they did not make a note in the computer that they had inspected it. the car was still under warranty at that time i took the car to them again yesterday when the car had 60,441 miles on it. the dealership's mechanic indicated that the struts were leaking excessively and that could cause the tires to wear out much more quickly. by the way, i have replaced all 4 tires and the rear brakes during the 3 years that i've had the car. i'm certain that it's highly unusual for the struts to leak at such low mileage. the two certified mechanics outside of dealership have had the same opinion. i have print outs of numerous complaints about the same issue from other camry owners who have reported their problems on various websites on the internet. dch toyota has told me that i would have to pay $2,300.00 to get the struts replaced additionally, all 4 rims on my car have rusted completely all around the rims. they have asked me to take the car into the dealership on february 19th for them to have it inspected by their district manager. after the inspection, they will let me know if they will replace the rims under manufacturer warranty or not. i need your help with this matter because i believe that leaky struts is a defect has not gotten attention from toyota manufacturers even though there have been a lot of complaints. the problem will cause my tires and brakes to wear out much much more quickly. *tr

Vehicle has 29000 miles. all tires are worn out and had to be replaced per toyota dealer inspection. bought 4 tires at bridgestone (original tire manufacturer). bridgestone said all 4 struts are leaking and might have contributed to the premature tire worn out. toyota's response is: warranty is 3 yrs or 36000 miles which ever comes first, and vehicle turned 3 yrs in july 09. therefore it is not under warranty. it is quite a coincidence that all struts started leaking right after vehicle turned 3 yrs and therefore not under warrant any more even though vehicle still has 6000 miles to reach 36000 miles. *tr

I bought a 2007 toyota camry brand new and had it 2 days when needing to take it back to the dealership for a front end problem. the subframe bolts were loose and needed to be tightened and aligned. i have worn out 3 sets of tires in 2 years. the car only has 50k miles on it. all different brands of tires used and the first 2 wore out at 18,000 miles but the last wore out at around 5,000. it has been on an alignment rack 3 times and each time needing small adjustments. the car also has a binding noise upon turning the wheel to the left. called dealerships and they will do nothing or even confirm that there is a problem with car. i am disguised. i have spent over $1000.00 on a car that is still new. help with all the money toyota is making they should be held accountable and have a recall on the issues and reimburse owners. i do not expect to put hundreds of dollars out on a new vehicle. *tr

Suspension and steering. i have noticed when i am driving on the freeway at a speed of about 60+mph, that any dips or bumps causes my cars to sway side to side, and the steering wheel jerks in a different direction. i took my car to the dealership on 11/11/06 and they could not duplicate the problem. i know why, because they did not do a true test drive. my car was checked in with 3544 miles and when i left the dealership something told me to check my mileage and it showed 3548 and at that time i was 1/2 a mile from the dealership. so, i know they did not take my car on the highway, so i will be taking my car back. *jb

My 2007 camry has defective suspension components that results in the inability to safely carry more than two (2) people. my wife and i traveled out of town on vacation and we attempted to take two other family members with us but were not able to do this. the rear of the vehicle dropped very low when the four of us loaded up and started to depart on our trip. the car was very hard to drive and any bumps on the highway caused the car to actually bottom out on the suspension stops. oncoming vehicles at night were flashing their high beam lights because my car's lights were aimed too high as a result of the suspension sagging in the rear. another problem with the car is the windshield wipers operating at the high speed setting during heavy rain. the car actually rocks laterally side to side as the wiper arms sweep across the windshield. this motion is very severe and is very totally unacceptable. the car has a very loud wind noise at highway speeds on both the driver and passenger sides, also driving in a heavy rain, the water displaced by the front tires sounds like it is coming into the front driver and passenger compartment causing a very loud noise. i have owned several toyota camry vehicles, the last one prior to this 2007 xle was a 2005 xle camry. i have never experienced any of the problems listed in this complaint. the 2007 xle has excellent power and very good highway mileage. i sincerely wish toyota motor corp. would find a way to correct these problems. the defective suspension has forced me to not allow any more than two (2) people at a time. and for information the owners manual states the maximum allowable load is 900 lbs. the load weight including baggage was approx 720 lbs when i attempted to drive the car on the trip. *jb

2007 toyota camry xle purchased in thousand oaks ca at dch toyota. took car in for oil change service at independent repair shop in dec 2009 and was told that the one front stut and two rear struts were leaking. the car has approx. 43000 miles - they and i were both shocked that 3 out of 4 were leaking. shop recommended that i replace all four struts for $1500. was told if i didnt have them replaced it would eventually affect my suspension. took car next to toyota dealer for recall, and had them check struts too. they indicated that only both rear struts were leaking, and recommended replacement too - not urgent but soon. called another independent toyota shop - this shop said there was a technical service bulletin on this issue to clarify what is a true leak, and that i shouldn't worry. i am shocked that toyota dealer didn't mention service bulletin to me. so, i am not sure if this is a real problem or not. i will have struts looked at again at next service appt.

2007 toyota camry, took in for service and was told that the front struts were badly cracked, the car has 44000 miles. was told that it was my fault that they were cracked, must be hitting potholes or driving over speed bumps too fast. was told if i didn't have them replaced it would ruin my tires & breaks. had them replaced but did some checking on-line and there are many complaints regarding this same issue-for some it was replacing the struts at 30000 miles. this doesn't seem right to me. now the dealer, after i've presented this information has reimbursed me for the parts and then i was even offered a great deal on a brand new car. this seems very strange. does toyota know something about struts and not owing up to it? struts shouldn't go at 30,000 or 44,000 miles. *tr

*tr

2007 toyota camry se, there is a looseness and clunking noise from the steering wheel. this happens when the wheel is turned from left to right ( stopped) and driving at low city speeds. had the car to the dealer multiple times for this incident and it could be duplicated in front of the service adviser and technician.. after attempting to repair no fix was done. a district toyota rep was dispatched to tell me this was normal for the car. not able to accept the answer given, i made a service appointment with another toyota dealer to have my car checked. deja vu...service writer hears the noise, get a technician to confirm the noise on a test drive. both confirm the noise in the front end of the vehicle. make an appointment, applies service bulletin:00207, did not fix problem. called toyota district rep, indicates again this is the nature of this model......please help !! *tr

My 2007 toyota with only 14,000 miles on it is already out of alignment and wearing the inside of the tires. i thought that i had a defective tire because of the thumping noise and was told by the dealer that it was because i did not rotate the tires. i had rotated the tires 1 time during the 14,000 miles and the rear tire was cupping the same as the front tire. this proved that the alignment was bad probably from the factory. i talked with the salesman at the dealer and he said that i should probably have an alignment done every 6 months. i have never had to get an alignment done on a new car until i bought new tires. they did not offer me anything even though the car is still under warranty. i feel that this is a safety issue due to the fact that if i were someone who was not aware of what was going on with my tires due to improper alignment from the factory and the tire would wear on the inside (as mine are) where it is not noticeable there could be blowout of the tire resulting in a serious accident and even death. i would like to see toyota issue a recall on all 2007 camrys for front end alignment or else reimbursement for those who have had to get their vehicle aligned (as i am about to) due to the fact the dealers are unwilling to warrant this work. i have read consumer web sights and there are a lot of these cars with the same problem. please, in the interest of safety, make toyota accountable for this failure of design. *tr

I bought a 2007 camry se v6 and have had nothing but problems with it. transmission slips, creaking dash and windshield, a pillar airbag cover replaced 3 times, center console stack does not line up, dash is not flush next to a & b pillars (haven't seen one yet that was), knocking noise in rear strut tower (fixed after two dealer visits, they added sound insulation), driver side armrest fabric peeling off (seen at first delivery of vehicle ), radio head unit freezes up randomly (dealer cannot fix because they cannot duplicate), steering is very loose and vehicle drifts on road (safety concern, dealer stated characteristic of tire), front grill loose on right side (dealer fixed) and seat plastic rail covers broken upon delivery (dealer fixed). vehicle also idles rough in cold weather (dealer stated bad gas).two to three second delay in acceleration (dealer stated this is normal). each dealer visit required me to leave the car once for ordering the part and a second time for installation. i have wasted way too much time at dealerships having my car repaired to ever consider buying another toyota again. over all i should have tested other cars before buying toyota based on its reliability alone. *tr

Vehicle information: 2007 camry se v6 purchased in toronto, ontario, canada in sep 2007 ? vehicle manufacturing date aug 29, 2007. deficiencies: 1) hesitation the vehicle would not respond to acceleration (even with full throttle) after driving in heavy traffic (stop and go) or driving very passively. this symptom is consistence and hesitation is long and common is 80 klm speed. the vehicle does not down shift at all. change my dealer after reporting it twice with no action. new dealer has acknowledged the problem and has reprogrammed the transmission chip as per tsb. (will pick up the vehicle today) 2) crackling noise from control are and dashboard next to windshield during entire cold season. noises appear every few second. over 90% of the problem disappears during warmer weather. change my dealer after reporting it twice with no action. new dealer has acknowledged the problem and has added additional insulation as per tsb to control area only. the dashboard noise next to windshield could not be replicated. i have to bring the vehicle to dealer during winter month to replicate the problem before any action is taken. 3) thumping noise from rear end of the vehicle on bumps (like a lose watermelon in your trunk). again, first dealer did nothing. new dealer has acknowledged the problem and has added additional insulation to struts as per tsb, 4) high revving and transmission not in gear in sudden acceleration. similar response as you are driving a manual transmission and you continue to accelerate while changing gear. new dealer suggest that the reprogramming should take care of this. *tr
