Was driving and put visor down on driver side and it snapped and had to hold it up while driving. was very dangerous while driving so researched how to take it completely off until i could afford to replace it. less than a week later the same thing happened to the passenger side. it really upsets me because i have sensitive eyes and drives towards the sun every morning when it's the worst and is very dangerous not only for me and my children in the car but, also the people i can't see. i'm like most people who live paycheck to paycheck and coming up with over 200 dollars to fix something that should have been built to last in the first place really makes me want to not own a toyota. *tr

Water leaking in the headliner, causing the foot wells to be wet. the drain line from the moon roof gutter disconnected from the drain line pan and water drains and accumulates in the foot well. during cold weather conditions there is an extreme condensation built-up on the interior of windows. use of heater will generate high humidity in the cabin and fogging of the window. the fluid in the cabin along with the heating and cooling at night has created a problem cycle. *tr

I own a toyota camry 2007 and the dashboard is melting and has created shiny dashboard. i have cleaned with plain water/damp cloth but it is not getting better. i have a friend who also owns camry 2007 and is facing same problem. i have maintained my car very well and this is surely manufacturing defect. on december 1st this year and i met with an accident because of melting dashboard and shiny dashboard that created glare in my eyes. thank god, no one was injured. i have also read online that many people who own toyota camry 2007 are facing same problem.

The area on the front part of the dashboard (next to the windshield) has become sticky and shiny. it is tacky to the touch and easily gouges. it creates a glare for the driver that can impair his ability to drive. we have tried washing the area and it does not improve the condition! it is dangerous and unsightly! *tr

I purchased my camry used in august 2010 and a couple of months after owning the car, the driver side sunvisor had to be removed because it flopped down and would not stay up when put up. in july 2012, the exact same identical thing happened with the passenger side and it's now hanging down and will not go back up and stay. i can feel in the seem that it's broken but cannot fix it. everyone, including myself that gets in the passenger side hits their heads on it since it's hanging down. it's definitely a safety issue because of blocking the views especially with the driver side...that's why we removed it completely. i contacted toyota customer service sometime ago and all they said was that there was no recall on the items. ridiculous! i've priced the visors thru the dealership i bought the car and the price was around $100. toyota needs to replace them, i feel! *tr

The driver's side sun visor broke. the arm that goes into the sun visor came out of the sun visor. it seems that it broke the plastic inside the visor that holds it in place. this caused the visor to keep falling and not stay in place. it had a good chance of creating a hazard so i completely removed the visor. the tab on the bar that allows the visor to snap into place has become very stiff to where it is very difficult to rotate around. the stiffness of the arm seems to be what probably broke the plastic. *tr

Sun visor was fine, and not experiencing any problems. while driving in moderate traffic the sun visor just flopped down obscuring my vision. it would not stay back up. i had to hold it up with one hand and drive with the other until i got home. it is now taped onto my sunroof with duct tape. not good at all! *tr

The sun visor on the driver side won't stay up if flops down and is difficult to see to drive. it flopped while i was driving and i had to slow down push it to side ways and continue driving and later need to remove it completely to continue driving. the piece that goes into the sunvisor itself that holds the visor up is broken. it looks to have come out of its slot. the metal bracket within visor broke the plastic slot that holds the bracket.

While driving down the interstate this morning my driver's side sun visor suddenly flopped down into my line of sight, causing me to almost have an accident. it will not stay up or pushed back out of the way- it falls to the lowest point, directly blocking my view of the top half of the windshield. i tried moving it to the side, but it blocks my vision here. i have not seen the dealer yet, but after searching online forms i see that this is a common problem in toyotas that they are refusing to acknowledge or accept responsibility for. there are over 230 complaints about this problem on this database for just the 2007 camry. from what i've seen, toyota thinks it is no big deal to pay $100-$200 to replace a part that is shoddily built. however, this is a major safety hazard and the defective part should be recalled in all models immediately, regardless of warranty or mileage. it obviously is something they have known about for a long time but they continue to ignore the potential seriousness of this malfunction.
06/12/201260000
As i put the driver's sun visor up to leave a parking lot, something broke in the mechanism that holds the visor up and it flopped back down. it won't stay up and it won't stay against the windshield -- it just hangs down above the steering wheel, leaving you with about 4-5 inches of visibility out onto the road, even less if you're tall. i feel very lucky that this didn't happen as i was driving over a bump in the road at 40 miles an hour! it's a very unsafe feeling to drive stooped down to see through the opening or with one hand holding the visor up so you can see ahead to what is coming up in front of you. since this will probably happen to most people after the 3-year warranty runs out and many people won't be able to afford the repair, it's a real safety issue. i think there needs to be a recall, as it appears many people are having this problem.
