While trying to make a turn to take an exit to ramp, i applied brakes to slow down and take the curve but the vehicle accelerated and while controlling it i pressed on emergency brakes and brought car to sudden stop but also hit the curve on the side of the hwy. this is an ongoing issue with toyota and had happened twice before.

Within the first and second year from the purchase date , rear wheel bearings failed and the dealer changed it, because it was still under warranty. again 2011 august the front wheel bearing failed , i had to replace with 50 % cost covered by the dealer. now feb 2012 passenger side bearing failed along with the intsrument panel switch. parts in this car have been failing pretty fast then expected. this is the worst kind of failure in wheel bearings for a sedan.

This is not an incident. it's an ongoing problem. all four wheels began to rust when the vehicle had about 20,000 miles on it. the rust is occurring on the sections of the wheels that aren't covered by the hub cap, in other words the exposed-to-the- elements part of the wheel. recently it was recommended to me that i replace all 4 wheels because the rust, as it's gotten steadily worse, will likely affect the structural integrity of the wheels and could create a serious safety concern when the car is moving.

Rusting wheels on 2007 toyota camry
01/11/200930000
The steel wheels of our 2007 toyota camry are rusting. this vehicle has only been in california since it was new. in our family we own a 2002 toyota camry with steel wheels and they are not rusting. this vehicle was even on the east coast for six winters and its wheels are still not rusting. we also own a 1992 toyota pickup with steel wheels and they are not rusting either even though the vehicle is 19 years old. toyota's quality standards are failing. the concern is that these steel wheels have weld spots between the part which is bolted to the hub and the part that has the tire installed on it. when the rust gets to the weld spots, the weld spots are going to weaken and will fail causing the vehicle to loose control and injure its occupants and other vehicles/people on the road. a complaint has been filed with toyota in january 2011 and they refused to fix this problem. a bbb complaint has been filed and again they refused to repair this problem. since we were having these issues with our toyota, i have been a lot more aware of other vehicles' wheels around me and noticed a lot of the newer toyotas with rusted steel wheels driving down the road. this does not appear to be an isolated incident to our toyota vehicle. the quality of toyota's wheels has decreased over the years and this is evident just from our family fleet of vehicles built between 1992 and 2007. i hope that you will investigate this matter and be able to help us arrive at a resolution.

I was stop at the stop light waiting for the light to turn green. when light turn green, i proceeded to make left hand turn into the undivided ramp. the steering would not return to the right. i turn the steering wheel as fast as i can to the right, but vehicle would not go to the right. on coming traffic hit me head on and collided head on with no air bags deployed at all. bruised on head due to hitting head on driver side window. insurance company had taken all parts for investigation. my left wheel was torn in half like it was open up by a can opening. ball joints were off also.

One car accident. front end shimmy led to an uncontrollable spin in right lane of highway (62-63 mph in a 65 zone, road dry, no sand, ice, water, oil), spun into left guardrail, bounced off and hit right side guardrail head on 45-60 mph. front/knee airbags did not deploy, seatbelt caught too late, leading to driver (only person in car) hitting head on steering wheel and knee on center console. injuries include concussion, whiplash, right knee/hip pain/damage, headaches, backaches, dizziness, neck/back soreness, forgetfulness following accident (random short term memory loss). car totaled (front end destroyed, other damage), problem reported to toyota. toyota rep appeared to be trying to blame driver on airbag/seatbelt failures but is sending investigator to check auto. insurance company has inspected vehicle. driver not ticketed by police (deemed not at fault for accident). *tr
