| On september 26, 2007, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that some of its model year (my) 2007 and 2008 lexus e350 and toyota camry vehicles could experience unintended and uncontrolled acceleration due to interference between the optional all weather floor mat offered on those vehicles and the vehicles' accelerator pedal.this decision was influenced by an office of defects investigation (odi) engineering analysis.this recall was designated 07e082.two years later, on october 5, 2009, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that a number of its my 2004-2009 lexus and toyota vehicles may also experience unintended and uncontrolled acceleration due to interference between the accelerator pedal and the driver's floor mat.this recall was designated 09v388.several months later, on january 27, 2010, toyota filed an amended, or supplemental, defect information report and expanded the population of vehicles to include additional my 2008-2010 toyota and lexus vehicles.since this expansiontook place in a different calendar year, this recall was designated 10v023.separately on january 21, 2010, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that certain toyota vehicles and certain pontiac vibe vehicles contained a safety defect in the accelerator pedal assembly that may cause the accelerator pedal to become harder to depress, slower to return, or in the worse case, mechanically stuck in a partially depressed position.nhtsa designated this recall 10v017.in total, the four recalls cover over 7.6 million toyota and lexus vehicles as well as the pontiac vibe product made by new united motor manufacturing, inc., a venture of toyota and general motors corporation.nhtsa requires additional information from toyota to more fully understand and evaluate, among other things, whether the scope of the recalls identified above (makes, models and model years) is sufficiently broad.the agency is seeking to determine whether toyota viewed the underlying defects too narrowly as interference between the accelerator pedal and the driver | ||||||

| Parked car in driveway two hours later my neighbor told me my lights were on. light switch was off could not get lights to go off. called tow truck they could not get lights to turn off, so they pulled the fuses for the lights. three hours later the horn started blowing,,had to disconnect to get it to stop. took into toyota dealer where i bought it, a year ago. they said they thought it was a after market alarm system that was installed previously to my ownership. they disconnected it, three weeks later same thing started happening, except this time the high beam headlights would not turn off. take it back to toyota and now they say it is an internal electrical problem that may cause other problems if not fixed. around $825. *tr | |||

| While driving, the speed, rpm and temperature needles dropped to zero, the brake and abs lights came on and the a/c compressor stopped working while the car was traveling @ 55 mph... the rest of the systems were working normally... after about 2-3 minutes, the above mentioned systems starting working properly again with no lingering effects on the car... but after about 5-10 minutes it happened again... and the problem started to happen in a cycle as frequently as 5 minutes but as long as 30 minutes... the dealer has not been able to diagnose the problem after a week trying... any ideas? it is driving us crazy! *tr | |||

| Friday at 10 pm, me and my family were coming from visiting family.. i left around 10pm i started the car, drove like about half a mile, when i told my wife i smell something burning i opened the windows then i looked at my side door (driver) it was on fire, .. i pooled over to the side to get my family out ,....then i got a bottle of water that i had on the truck...and used to put out the fire on the driver side door...when i pooled over i hit one of the sign pole on the street ..right fender was damage.. i had my two babies,, 3, and 1 year old.... | |||

| I have a 2009 camry. since my gas gauge was continuosly reading empty i took it to dealer. the dealer indicate the vehicle was in warranty until march 2012 but that because water dropplet were found in the tank the 'sender' had burned out and was not sending the correct gas level to the dash's gauge and that it was not covered by the warranty. i understand the the sender should have had some tolerance to some level of liquid humididy and should not have failed. this failure of sender should have been covered by the warranty. they indicated that many pumps had gone bad by water being deposited in tanks of ther vehicles but they had no history of replacing senders. the pump works fine and the car runs great, but the guage in the dash was the only problem. should it have been repaired under warranty? | |||

| I purchased my 2009 toyota camry in jun 2009(used) with about 6000 miles. after the first week the clip from the carpet snapped out, and i took it to toyota for the first carpet recall, then i took it to toyota for the sudden acceleration recall with the gas pedal, this friday i am returning it, for the sudden acceleration due to some electrical issue that toyota is unsure of. i've been paying car notes and have not been able to try my car, for fear of sudden acceleration not due to myself. | |||

| I own a 2009 toyota camry hybrid purchased new 4/3/2008. at the end of march, 2009, i had the first of four (thus far) accelerator runaway events. i was able to stop the car by applying extremely hard brake pressure with both feet, taking several seconds to stop the car as it fish-tailed wildly on the road. a couple of days later, it happened again. my car was at the dealership 4/3/2009. they told me this accelerator runaway was caused by my floor mat causing the gas pedal to stick. i removed the floor mat. approximately 6 weeks later, the accelerator runaway event happened twice more. the floor mat was not in the car. i have called toyota, been treated like i was delusional and then as the public outcry/press releases began later in 2009, contacted toyota again. i finally got my scheduled recall (at my persistance--the dealerships never called me to schedule this) then after i requested details of the planned recall changes, i found out after my appointment they said my vehicle qualified only for them to cut down my gas pedal. no shim assembly to the gas pedal and no software update as i was told you already have the most current software. really?! my now mutilated gas pedal allows my foot to constantly slip off of it while driving as it is so small. i am scared of my vehicle as there was never a warning pre-accelerator runaway & there is no fix either. not that i would trust toyota at this point. i have copies of all service tickets, including the 4/3/2009 ticket with my complaint of the gas pedal sticking written on it. this is available to you as well as a detailed four page letter outlining every step of my events. i sent an email & rec'd a response from you, titled notification of case change/case escalation, case no. 245586. i called in & spoke with a representative and he gave me a case no. too. telephone call case #10320545. please advise my next step. thank you. | |||

| I have a 2009 toyota camry. on my way home from work around 10:00 pm on 1/25/10. my car shut off while i was driving. i was driving on a two lane road. while pressing on the accelerator and passing a semi truck. as i pulled back into my lane my car just shut off. the check engine and battery light came on. i pulled the car over to the side of the road.and would not start. when i would start the car and put into drive the car would turn off. then i waited for about 20 minutes. and tired again and it worked just fine and the check engine light turned off. next day i took it to the dealer and they advised my there might have been some debris in my gas. i always fill up super. i am filling this complaint because i found out today that they are investigating the electrical throttle control on some toyota's and thought this might be helpful. thank you *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2009 toyota camry. approximately one month ago the the contact stated that her radio display was not visible whenever she started the vehicle. within a few weeks, the rear power windows began opening on their own. the contact was driving approximately 20 mph when the brakes were engaged; however, the vehicle would not stop which caused her to crash into a vehicle in front of her. there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed to a body shop who advised the contact that there was also an electrical failure since the vehicle would start. the repair shop made several attempts to start the vehicle and was unsuccessful. the manufacturer advised her that the recall repair will start in april and that she would have to wait until then. the contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. the failure mileage was 19854. | |||
