I have a toyota camry 2009. my car went through the recall services, toyota had for the acceleration problems through one of their dealers. however, on 02/08/2013, i was involved in an accident, wherein i felt this problem myself. on a busy road i may have been driving between 35-40 mph, when all of a sudden, when i applied brakes, my car wouldn't stop but accelerated to maybe double the speed and hit the car in front of me. it appeared as if there are no brakes in the car.the impact was so severe, that i am still nervous and shaken up with the incident. the person driving the car i hit, thought i was speeding. but it definitely was the acceleration problem. this problem has not yet resolved and could lead to many more accidents. i have reported this problem to toyota dealership and on their suggestion to the toyota customer experience team. i was extremely lucky, that there were no physical injuries in the accident, but it could have been fatal.

On 10/19/2012, the windshield molding on the upper driver side was separating from the glass and was cracking in other areas. the molding was inspected by local toyota dealerships and they questioned the installation of the windshield. it was explained the car has one owner and the windshield had not been damaged or replaced. i was told i could have it repaired for $400 or come back when i experience leaking. i was not satisfied with either answer especially since the toyota plant, located in kentucky, incorrectly installed the windshield and now i am being told i have to pay for the botched installation. after researching recent tsbs, i found the 09-12 tacoma's were experiencing the same issues i have on my car. the tsb 0062-12 states the incorrect installation of the windshield/windshield molding was causing wind noise and the remedy was to replace the windshield/windshield molding. although the tsb specifies wind noise as a minor nuisance, the defect has the potential to affect the integrity of the windshield as well as other electrical components due to the faulty molding. i am requesting the tsb be expanded to cover camrys exhibiting the same symptoms and make dealers responsible for correcting the defect.

While driving our 2009 toyota camry se model that my wife drives 95% of the time, i was being annoyed by the driver side visor droping down and obstructing my view, it would not stay fully up, in asking my wife about this she responded it has been that way for a while but is getting worse, and she mentioned the passenger side is very difficult to pull into the down position and then back up, stopped using it because she did not want to break it. i ordered thru the dealer the driver side visor and weeks after i am told it is in back order and not available at this time. i wonder if toyota is using there available stock for those consumers that take it in for dealer repair/replacement at a cost to the consumer, as i have read in some of the complaints. what am i to do ? any suggestions ? help !!!! i dont want to wait for a accident to happen.

While driving, the speed, rpm and temperature needles dropped to zero, the brake and abs lights came on and the a/c complressor stopped working while the car was traveloing @ 55 mph... the rest of the systems were working normally... after about 2-3 minutes, the above mentioned systems starting working properly again with no lingering effects on the car... but after about 5-10 minutes it happaened again... and the problem started to happen in a cycle as frequently as 5 minutes but as long as 30 minutes... the delaer has not been able to diagnose the problem aftert a week trying... any ideas? it is driving us crazy!

The driver-side sun visor on my 2009 toyota camry recently broke. like many others have already reported, the visor will not stay up and makes visibility while driving very difficult. in order to drive, i had to physically remove the visor to see, but now i have no visor to help shield the sun, which also makes visibility difficult. i have seen this issue reported online by many different individuals ranging from 2007-2009 camry models. my car is only 3 years old and this should not happen. i hope toyota can acknowledge this flaw and provide a fix.

I was driving on the highway at 70mph when all of a sudden my sun visor fell down and impaired me seeing the road ahead. i went to go flip it up but it had broken suddenly and without warning and would not stay up. i was trying to get off the highway while holding up the visor and trying to keep up with traffic as to not cause an accident. when i finally got off the road i had to actually rip the visor off because it wouldn't go up at all no matter what i did. the car is barely 2 years old. normally i would just fix this and move on with my life, but upon doing some research i realized that there are literally thousands of complaints dating back to the 2007 camry on the same visor issue. we were lucky we were able to get off the highway but let me tell you, i couldn't see a thing and if there was a car in front of me when it fell down i would have hit something or someone. again, it was without warning and just fell down - i wasn't moving it or touching it. i'm beyond upset especially now that i know that toyota was well aware of the situation.

I bought a toyota camry on may 10 2011,the same week i felt the car acting up, i made an appointment for service and told then what it does, the service manager said it was normal,i taking my car 5 or more times for service and all they say is normal,my camry shakes, vibrates all the time,i am afraid that the car is going to turn off on me and cause an accident one of this days that is the feeling i get every time i drive this car, i am a single mom with 2 girls all i want is honesty the seller dealer they need to let the buyer know of the wear things the camry does before making the purchase the way the buyer can make the decision of purchasing the car or not...

Prior to these incidents, the vehicle was checked by the dealer on their recall. i was traveling on a 2 lane highway at 60 mph with the cruise control on. i approached a slight incline in the road and the transmission downshifted as normal. tachometer went from 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm. then suddenly there was a sudden uncontrollable acceleration in which the engine revved up to 4500 rpm and the engine was screaming as though it was about to blow apart. my foot was not in contact with the accelerator pedal. the floor mat had been removed per the dealer instructions. i immediately put my foot on the brake pedal which stopped the sudden acceleration. if this had been on a wet highway or in traffic there would surely have been an accident. this same incident has occurred 4 times within the last 6 months. i took the vehicle back to the dealer and they reported that there was nothing wrong and they could not replicate the problem. after several conversations with toyota, they said that they will make a record of my incidents but, toyota will do nothing to fix the problem. this had to have been caused by the cruise control system or the computer/software controlling it.

Leaking front struts: i reported the finding to the local toyota dealer (scott tom toyota, nampa, idaho) and also called the main toyota customer center. the local dealer's service associate confirmed the existence of the leakage. i was told the amount of the leakage is small, normal, no need to repair at this point, and if i want to have it replaced then its not covered by the warranty. i believe leaking struts issue is very common to toyota camry and may pose possible safety issue.

I have a 2009 toyota camry. i purchased it in 2008. it started shaking/vibrating every time you come to a stop light one year after i purchased it. i took it to the toyota dealer twice (once to have the oil changed and again because the vibration was so bad) and they proceeded to tell me it is because the air filter and fuel line filter needed to be changed & cleaned out. it would cost me almost $500. the car was only a year old. i was wondering if this is the same problem that they noticed with the current corrola recal? we had the 2 air filters changed & it still continues to shake. some times so violently that you can see your hand on the steering wheel vibrating and the rear view mirror is blurred.

My daughter was exiting a parking garage on a descending ramp going at the most about 10 mph in our 2009 toyota camry. she had her foot on the brake pedal. there were cars in front of her. the car suddenly accelerated. she pushed hard on the brake and the brake pedal went to the floor to no effect. she turned into the garage wall to stop the car so as not to run into the vehicles ahead of her. when she exited the car to get help the brake pedal was completely on the floor of the vehicle. she had taken the vehicle in for the required recall repairs in april 2010. we have instituted investigation procedures with toyota.

While coming to a stop in my driveway my 2009 toyota camry had sudden surge with my feet on the brake. the car ran away and hit my house, bird baths, smoker on trailer, went into neighbors driveway and hit a van and finally came to rest in a hedge row. the physical evidence and police report show the brakes were on. the gas pedal was replaced in march under the recall. it had nothing to do with the sudden acceleration.

My wife was pulling into a parking spot and all of a sudden the car acceleratored very quickly, she was uickm enough to turn the wheel sharply to the right and hit the front left fender on the wall of the building, she also hit a parking sign on the right front fender. the damage to the car was over $7500. no air bags were activated. this is a 2009 toyota camry that we had brought into the dealership for a recall in april of 2010. my wife does not believe she stepped on the gas pedal but that the car just suddenly accelerated.

Toyota camry hybrid has an insufficient warning label on the high voltage service plug. the small type and the tiny international symbols are not reconizable until you take cap out to read the message. after i rempved the cap to read te message, i discovered it was a warning message not to remove the cap. i was indeed fortunate not to have been killed or seriously injured. as it was, i disabled my car and had to have it towed to the dealership to have the service module reset. after altering my travel plans and towing the car to the dealership, i discovered that the problem could have been resolved by pushing the cap down and driving the car to the dealership for reprogramming. if the dealer or the manufacturer had given me the information i requested, i could have avoided considerable wasted time and expense.

I was pulling into a restaurant parking lot and had found a handicapped space for my wife. the car was slowly inching forward with my foot on the brake controlling its forward motion. suddenly it lurched forward, over a curb and into a handicap sign support pole, which in turn bent forward and knocked a cast stone statue against a painted panel attached to the restaurant wall. i was pushing down on the brake the entire time.

Gas pedal stuck while on interstate highway i-75, traveling at 60mph. when i stepped down on the accelerator in order to pass another vehicle the accelerator pedal stuck down. the vehicle began to accelerate even after i removed my foot from the pedal. i was then able to free the pedal by wedging my foot underneath the pedal and pushing up on the pedal. this has happened after my vehicle as recalled for unintended acceleration and the safety recall repair was completed on 2/11/10.

On wednesday march 17, 2010 i took my 2009 toyota camry to my local toyota dealership in chester, va to have my vehicle serviced due to the recent recall issue. this morning while driving to work i noticed that when i let off the gas pedal, my car accelerates just a bit and/or sticks just for a few moments and then decelerates . the vehicle was doing this prior to the service, and is still doing this after the vehicle maintainance was completed yesterday. i feel that whatever fix toyota is performing on the recalled vehicles is not working. i feel it is not a mechanical issue, i feel it is an electronic issue. i have read that others are having the same issue with the fix toyota is issuing for their vehicles. i am at a loss of what to do since toytoa doesn't seem to have a reliable fix for the recalled vehicles yet. i don't know what this information will accomplish, but i just wanted to put it out there just in case it is helpful. thanks, concerned toytoa customer
