 Tl* the contact owns a 2012 toyota camry. the contact stated tat while driving 60 mph, there was a loud screeching noise from the engine area as the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, who performed a diagnostic and advised that they could not detect any failure codes nor could the failure be duplicated. the failure recurred intermittently. the manufacturer was notified of the issue by mail but there was no response. the failure mileage was 1,500.

 On acceleration the gas cuts out, lasting around 3 to 10 seconds. i cannot duplicate this condition, it just happens sporadically. it is very dangerous because the car behind me has no indication that i am in limbo and could easily rear-end me. this usually occurs when i am turning at a low speed, but has happened when driving straight.

 I was driving at 60 mph on highway but suddenly the engine revved all the way to 7000 rpm and the car jerked violently. i put my foot off the accelerator but the engine still stays at 5000 rpm and doesn't go back down to normal. had to pull over to the shoulder with emergency light on. tried to get back on the highway but at 35 to 40 mph, the engine made loud revving noise and the rpm jumped to 7000 again. had to pull over again and call for a tow truck. *tr
