FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE - FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

The fuel injection system fails constantly. with the bike dying around turns. yet triumph still takes no responsibility. please help me because the next time such a thing occurs it could be harmful.*ak

From the start, my 2000 triumph tt600 has performed poorly when the rpms are below 5k. this is known defect by the manufacturer. they corrected it for 2001 models. no such initiatives have been taken with the 2000. this efi problem has left many tt600's in a danger situation. there is a terrible choppiness in the low rpm band , which causes the bike to be very difficult to control in slow moving traffic. the bike is very hard to accelerate with the pace of traffic from a stop. this provides the perfect environment for me to rear end a car or to be rear ended by a motorist who may assume i will keep pace with traffic from a roll, stop, or especially while turning. a sudden loss of power could mean disaster on a bike if in mid turn. at 4500-5000 rpm, the bike surges terribly almost as if it is bucking. again, a crash may result if it occurs during a higher speed turn or inclement weather conditions. this has happened too me a large number of times. i personally am not an advanced rider, and i have come very close to crashing serval times. the only way to recover from this is to turn the bike back towards perpendicular and then straighten my turn line. i have had to do this. i am very lucky that no oncoming traffic was approaching, because this maneuver always result in taking a turn very wide. the bike has stalled while approaching intersections when the engine is running warm. it is sometimes difficult to (re)start as well. i am concerned that the back will with lock up and result in a slide. triumph has never claimed responsibility for the 2000 tt600's problems, and has sold a dangerous product to the consumer. our complaints fall on deaf ears. i do not feel safe riding this bike, and i always need to be on guard to react to any sudden failure. triumph has issued remappings of the efi which do little to nothing to improve the problems or reliability. i believe that if something is not done soon, i or someone else will be hurt or killed. please help. thank you.

This complaint concerns the sagem fuel injection system on the triumph tt600 motorcycle. the engine has stalled on me on four or five occasions when braking from 30 or so miles per hour, when i have disengaged the clutch. in addition the engine has stalled on me once while sitting at lights in neutral. in addition the fuel injection at 2,500 to 3,500 rpm is very jerky - if you hold a constant throttle at these rpms in the 1st or 2nd gears motorcycle lurches badly enough to make it unsafe to ride at that rpm. the combination of lurching at low rpm in low gears, and occasional stalling is, in my opinion, a safety issue. in some circumstances (i.e. when cornering or turning in front of oncoming traffic) a stall or jerky throttle response could be fatal to the rider. triumph u.k. has acknowledged that there are fuel injection problems with the 2000 tt600, and has released multiple engine cpu updates to counter the problem but none have so far been completely successful. other tuning to the motorcycle by triumph service staff has minimal impact (according to many owners). i would like to see triumph pressured to find a fuel injection mapping that fixes this problem once and for all or offers to perform free updates to 2000 tt600s to bring them to the same specification as 2001 tt600s (which reportedly are much better in this area).*ak

SUSPENSION
05/20/20012005/01/2000
The bike keeps stalling at off idle even while moving or coasting. if this were to happen in a turn, it could lead to a crash due to suspension instability. triumph is aware of the problem and has done nothing to correct the situation.
