| Defect Summary | Bmw is recalling certain model year 2004-2010 5-series, 6-series, and model year 2002-2008 7-series vehicles. a check valve of the brake vacuum pump may leak a small amount of lubricating oil. over time this could result in contamination of the brake booster. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2002 bmw 754i. while driving approximately 25 mph and applying pressure to the brake peddle it difficult to brake. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vacuum brake pump, the lock ring seal, and the brake booster and seal were replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the contact received a recall notice (nhtsa campaign id number: 10v446000 component: service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum) after repairs were made and was informed by the manufacturer to take the vehicle to the dealer so the technicians could inspect the vehicle. the manufacturer stated the contact would be reimbursed for the repairs. the contact has not received a reimbursement from the manufacturer. the approximate failure mileage was 111,000. ds | |||
