| Tl*the contact owns a 2001 chevrolet camaro. the contact stated that the vehicle was stalling. the cause of failure was diagnosed as a corroded connection of the fuel pump wiring in the tank. the wiring overheated and the insulation had melted as well. the contact repaired the vehicle, but is concerned that other vehicles with this failure could stall or burst into flames in the middle of the road. the current and failure mileages were 67,000. | |||

| 2001 camaro with ls1 engine, having terrible pistion slap issiue due to poor cooling design of cylinders, gm is failing to admit there is a problem with this car. it only has 29000 miles, now i see i am not the only one with this problem....going to try and start a class action law suit. my car needs an engine and gm will not replace at no cost. *nm | |||

| 2001 camaro ss with ls1 engine, has terrible piston slap that lasts for over 5 minutes, very loud, and has to be causing wear in the cylinders. this is a complaint that many owners seem to have but mine lasts very long and is very loud. people keep asking me what is wrong with my engine as it sounds very bad for the first 5 - 8 minutes especially when colder out.*ak | |||

| Problems with vehicle cutting off.*mr the consumer stated when he purchased the vehicle, it died twice as it was being moved on the lot. it was explained as carbon build-up and the fact that the vehicle had been on a truck for a week from another dealer. the motor was pinging and a mechanic stated it was a well known problem with that particular motor, apparently due to a design defect, the outer cylinders did not cool efficiently which resulted in a scorching of the cylinders, rings and pistons, which was the source of the pinging. the consumer dropped the vehicle off at the dealer and after tearing down the motor, it was determined the motor was in need of replacement. the consumer was informed there was a national back order for that particular motor. *cb *jb | |||
