| While stopped and positioned facing uphill, the vehicle, when placed in drive, will roll downhill unless the the accelerator is pressed. while stopped and postioned facing downhill, the vehicle, when placed in reverse, will roll downhill unless the accelerator is pressed. the rolling is not limited to inches or a couple of feet. the rolling was stopped by applying the brake after rolling over 10 feet. the 2011 traverse is an all wheel drive with automatic transmission. | |||

| When stopped on any type of grade from approximately 2% or greater, with transmission in drive, the vehicle will roll backwards when moving the right foot from depressing the foot brake to the accelerator in preparation to continue in the forward direction. when the vehicle was taken to the dealership for service reference this complaint, we were advised that this is common in the newer four and six cylinder travers and malibu and that they are still functioning as designed. i feel this is a safety issue even though it may not result in reportable crashes or injuries, the number of incidents related to this issue could be in the hundreds, yet due to most damage not being of a reportable nature it could be years before enough people report this and chevrolet takes notice. thank you for your time and consideration reference this issue. fyi, your system did not recognize my listed vin, but i copied it straight from my vin plate. *tr | |||

| The traverse was parked in the lot of the local grocery store, when started and placed in reverse it backed up just fine, however putting it in drive it broncoed up and would only go 30 miles per hour. this has happened 3 times . now the power steering unit whines, the seats in the back do not recline well and the middle seat belt in the middle seat locks and i am unable to secure my 2 year old in his carseat. i am not pleased at all with the 2011 traverse, i should have stuck to my first thoughts and bought the suburbon that i know. the traverse is the worst vehicle i have ever owned, while it was being repaired at the dealership, they offered me another one to drive....i laughed, i went and rented a yukon. now when i go out of town i rent a vehicle my $40,000.00 traverse sit in the driveway as a lawn ornament. dimmitt chevrolet in clearwater florida got me real good, now they state i am upside down in this vehicle and am not able to trade without a big down payment. funny they sell me a lemon and i can't even make lemonade with it. | |||

| My chevy traverse rolls back when stopped at a stop sign on a hill before applying the gas, when you attempt to take off, you really have to rev up the engine or leave your foot on the brake while applying the gas or it will roll back. this happens on any incline no matter size. the dealer stated this is how the car is designed. what manufacturer would design something unsafe like that? i fear for my safety in the snow and ice. my second incident envolved backing out of my garage, i backed approx 4 ft and then had to go over a 3 speed bump, but my car wouldn't continue to go backwards, until i reved up to 2000 rpms. then if finally made it over the 3 hump. they say this is normal for the 6 speed transmission i have because of the green' environment changes made to give it more fuel economy. green environment over saftey what is our government thinking, if this is really the truth. i am now concerned i will not be able to keep my car in my garage, when the snow and ice fall as i won't be able to rev it that high or i will wreck my vehicle into the side of my gargage. i would like for gm to make this right and if not and i have a wreck they pay when my insurance goes up due to their poor design!! i do love the style and room in my suv. that's probably what i was sold on as well as the color. however, the room in the vehicles means nothing, when i'm afraid i am going to crash into someone behind me. this is absolutley an unsafe vehicle. gm needs to do something about it. | |||

| While in the drive position on a hill at a stop sign or traffic signal, i removed my foot from the brake. the vehicle began to roll back almost hitting the vehicle behind me. it startled me and almost hit the car behind. in the second incident, my wife was pulling back from parking spot which has a slight incline (ground level in front is a bit lower than that in the back). she removed her foot from the brake after trying to park out with the gear 'r', the vehicle now began to roll forward almost hitting a little stone. my wife was terrified. we further tested the vehicle on various hills/inclines both in drive and reverse and it continued to roll in the opposite direction of the engaged gear. apparently, this is a characteristic of the automatic transmission on this vehicle, and it does not have hill-hold or hill assist. however, since this family suv carries is being driven by mothers, and this might cause the serious safety issue. i saw there are a lot of complains of the same case, this issue should be brought up and chevrolet should do some action on this. | |||

| I am writing to inform you of a recent safety issue we had with our 2011 chevrolet traverse. on wednesday, april 25, 2012, i was parked in said vehicle with the keys out of the ignition, pumping gas at smokin joes on indian hill in lewiston. i had all three of my children, ages 8, 6, and 5 in the vehicle. while pumping gas, my vehicle began to roll, ripping the gas nozzle from my car, spilling gas. i began to run after my car and thankfully it stopped just before entering oncoming traffic. i thank the grace of god that my children were not injured | |||
