After filling the fuel tank the engine will stall when stopping for a light or when first leaving the light. it will also jerk while driving.this happens until the fuel level goes down. it did not do this when first purchased. now it happens every time the tank is filled. if the car stalls while driving the steering and brakes become difficult to use. there are many reports online about this same problem. chrysler does not claim to know anything about this at the dealer. someone will get hurt or worse if this problem is not addressed. thank you

The car will hesitate and stall unexpectedly. it seems to occur only immediately after refueling. i have had the car die as i am crossing busy intersections. after driving a few miles, the problem seems to go away. internet chatter seems to indicate a bad evap. solenoid/canister or from a vent valve sensor inside the tank that is causing the problem and the tank would have to be replaced. a costly fix. this can be quite dangerous as the car will hesitate and stall even at highway speeds. it seems that this is a fairly common problem. i asked my local chrysler dealer assistant manager if he had ever heard of this problem and he said no, and also checked for any existing chrysler service bulletins on this subject and found none . *tr

The other day i got off work and drove off fine. i went to the bank and used the drive through because i had pulled in a little to far away from the window i put the car in park and reached out. after my transaction was done, i tried to put the car in drive and it was stuck in park. it would not budge. i googled the problem and found that many many people have had this same issue. the internet suggested pushing a pink override button which i did but it did not work. it stated that there was another button to push if that didn't work but that required taking the whole shift gear apart. none the less, had to call a tow and the guy informed that this was a problem with chrysler 300. i have also had a problem with the car stalling when making right turns?? i have only had this car a year. low miles when i bought it. i just knew there was a recall on this and to my surprise there is not. so its sitting at the chrysler dealership and i can't imagine what my repair bill is going to be for something that chrysler should fix.

I bought my 2006 300c 9/2/2011 exactly a week later it was back at the dealship its stalling for no reason. every month oct, nov, dec, jan, feb, march, etc it has been back to the shop for the same exact problem and its not fixed because they don't know what is causing it. when i took it in march/2012 we almost go hit by a truck and trailer going 75 mph on the interstate because it stalled on me. i have three little kids and this is dangerous. i googled searched and there is hundreds of ppl having the same problem but no mechanic is able to tell them the problem. this issue needs a recall and soon... *tr

Owning my chrysler 300c has been nothing short of an nightmare..i have had the car power down while driving on the freeway, in the city and just recently on a saturday 11/12/11 night on a desolate road with my children in the car.. when it shut off and would not restart. i have been to the dealership numerous times advising them that there is no heat in the car unless your driving that it starts delayed and every time they have said there is no code so therefore they cant trouble shoot..i just feel as though this car is a death trap waiting to happen to go from 70 miles an hour to completely lose power is dangerous..it is not a safe nor reliable car and i would not recommend it to anyone..

In june of this 2011 our chrysler 300c just stopped running at a stop light. we had it towed to a local shop and the mechanic refused to do anything and advised us we needed to take the car to an official chrysler dealer. meanwhile the car would start and appeared to run ok so we left the shop and within a mile the car started to sputter and we pulled over on the road but then managed to get the car back home. we had the car towed to the local chrysler dealer and they kept the car for a week and did not solve the problem. on november 3, 2011 my wife had a doctors appointment and as she pulled into the doctor parking lot the chrysler just died. she waited a few minutes and the car started and she was able to park it. after her appointment she was able to start the car and drive it home and it almost stopped again before she got home. we called the local dealer and they asked me to bring the the car in for inspection and i refused, as i did not want the car to stop on me on the freeway. finally they agreed to have the car picked up and delivered to their shop at their expense. the chrysler was purchaed new in december of 2005 as a 2006 model and now has approximately 63,000 miles. we purchaed the extended warranty and it has had all the required maintainance by the local chrysler dealer from day one. based on all the other posts on the nhtsa site about the stalling problem i have a low confidence of getting this problem resolved to our satisfaction.

I was driving to get onto the highway going up the ramp and my car just died. the engine completely shut down. had it towed to the dealer ship and they said that something in my engine exploded. they have not seen anything like it. since then i have discovered that my car is not the only chrysler 300 with that problem. 22 other people have had the same problem with their engine some of them having their car only 3 weeks. that is really a problem and very unsafe.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. while driving approximately 35 mph the vehicle jerks and hesitate for 1 second and then it does it again. this failure happens approximately every three months. he then stated the vehicle stalls. the contact coast to the side of the road. he state he waits ten seconds and the vehicle restarts as normal. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they are unable to duplicate the failure. the failure mileage was 38,000 and the current mileage was 48,000. vwb

After fueling the vehicle if you make left turns the engine dies and will not restart for several minutes. this has happened at least five different times on my 2006 chrysler 300c.

My husband was driving on the belt parkway. there was traffic so he had to brake and slow down the vehicle..each time he applied the brake it seemed that the motor was losing power. the third time he heard a scraping noise and the motor just died.he had to be towed off the highway.the 2006 chrysler 300 srt8 had less than 25000 miles on it.chrysler refuses to cover the engine damage. chrysler advised me that water collects in the engine when it rains heavily due to the large size of the engine. my mechanic told me he heard of this also and to him it sounds like a defect that chrysler should correct. whoever heard of not being able to drive your car when it rains.also i never received a renewal for an extended warranty.i assumed i was covered for 5 years.

Intermittent stalling - repetitive issue intermittent stalling of my vehicle while in park or while stopped at a light. i've had the vehicle in for service 3x's for the same issue; 3/21, 4/17 and 6/23. since the problem occurs so infrequently, the dealers (berlin chrysler & mt. ephraim chrysler) have been unable to diagnose the issue. i've had no problems with the car stalling since 6/23, now it has happened again and with my car being 41,000 miles it's out of warranty. there is no reason why i should have to pay for diagnosis and repair (if they can even diagnosis it) considering i've had the vehicle in for the same issues 3 other times which chrysler has documented. i did speak to a representative @ 1-800-992-1997 who was very friendly but who could not give me a definitive answer. the service records are impeccable on this vehicle i should not be concerned while driving the vehicle that it's going to stall and causing a dangerous situation to my well being. three days business days after my phone call and e-mail to chrysler they responded with a generic lack of responsibility response. there are various forums on the internet of folks having similar complaints about this car. *tr

Last week on may 9th, 2010 the engine in my 2006 chrysler 300c spontaneously died in the parking lot of an osh hardware store. i had the vehicle towed to a dealership and the mechanic confirmed that a piston and valve blew causing the engine to fail and the entire engine will need to be completely replaced at a cost of $8,500.00. the mechanic also confirmed that there was no evidence of wear and tear that could have caused this and even mentioned that he noticed that the car had full synthetic oil that was clean and wasn't due for a change for another 2,500 miles per chrysler's recommended schedule. i have all the receipts from my past oil changes and maintenance as well. i have contacted chrysler regarding this defect and it appears they are not very shocked at all as if it was something they foreseen happening. i am also very concerned with how difficult it is to contact someone with some authority at the company to explain this issue and discuss a resolution. i have written their ceo and their chief of customer care and quality a letter and an e-mail about this over a week ago and neither has responded. what kind of chief of customer care and quality doesn't have any interest in talking to a real chrysler customer regarding an issue of quality? please help me in creating awareness about this issue as i do believe it could have been much worse and extremely dangerous had this engine failure occurred while i was driving and not in the parking lot of a hardware store. imagine the danger in driving on the highway at 65 miles per hour and spontaneously blowing a piston and the engine becoming completely non-functional and possibly blowing up entirely while moving at those speeds with other cars around you. please contact me if you have any questions or comments. updated 06/14/10.
